I don't normally pick up romance novels to read unless I'm just looking for a way to escape from the stress of daily life. I've been disappointed with past purchases in this genre, but I was very surprised and pleased by Lessons from a Scarlet Lady! From the very beginning (literally), Wildes brings the romance and excitement up to full tilt and maintains it throughout the book. Sure, there are no major intrigues or plot twists, but if you're just looking for a way to relax and really get your sensual imagination going, this is definitely a great book to pick up!

The envy of the female members of the Tom due to spousal catch Brianna Northfield wants more out of her marriage to the Duke of Rolthven. She wants passion, but Rolthven is too busy for her and besides he expects prim and proper behavior even in the boudoir. Brianna turns to Lady Rothburg's Advice guidebook for courtesans to seduce her mate. Her spouse Colton thinks his shy new wife is perfect. However, suddenly she becomes a seductress enchanting him. Soon he makes love to his delightful wife in places he would never imagine having sex. As the vixen wins his body, she hopes to win his heart too, but if anyone learned of the source, the scandal could lead to her rusticating alone. Adhering to the advice of a courtesan is not new (see Claudia Dain's The Courtesan's Secret), but Emma Wilkes refreshes the concept by having an innocent wife apply the instructions to her marriage in order to win more than just the body of her spouse; she uses An Indecent Proposal to gain his heart too. Brianna and Colton are wonderful as they seem do it everywhere since he cannot resist the lure of his suddenly seductress spouse. Lighthearted, fans will relish this fun Regency romance starring a woman whose sexologist guru is a guide written by a courtesan. Harriet Klausner

Interesting that in this novel two stories share the book - Colton and Brianna (who are newly weds) and Rebecca and Colton's youngest brother Robert (both single). Though i prefer Colton's story, both couple were a joy to read. Yes i would have liked more character depth but i think that sharing this novel wasnt a bad idea. I found both stories quite satisfying. And i loved reading Lady R's advice! I'm glad to hear that Colton's middle brother Damien gets his own book, and it comes out Dec of this year, i cant wait!

Realli loved that we start with a married monogamous couple working their lives out and falling more in love or recognizing the depths of their love. Spunky heroine, sexy antics from the books advice. Secondary romance was good too, but took almost half the book. Loved duke & duchesses story-I want to be her!!

This is one of the best romance novels I've read! I genuinely laughed, and couldn't wait to see what they did next. A must read.

Love EW's romance novels. This book was a treat, two stories in one and both were very enjoyable. And you knew the ages of all the main characters, I hate when the author leaves out the age when they describe the character. Highly recommend this book. I got chuckle out of the Grandmama when Colton went to her for serious advice.
