Overview

A Summer Escape Novel--
From the author of the 'Sand Between the Toes' Series:
Five parents who meet during daily swim lessons share laughs, joys and a secret that threatens to change their bond, and their lives, forever.

The truth--like
the foul weather rolling in the time to tell the truth has finally come. They
want the truth. Amy is not willing to
reveal that to them she tells herself, wishing they were all beneath the blue and
white awning in her sacred corner of the pool--for swim lessons-- as the weather
moves across the wide open late summer sky.Who are they to demand the truth from her? These people who she has met and befriended this summer, because they have accompanied
children who are taking swim lessons to the pool each day, do not have the
right to demand the truth from her. Do
they? Standing surrounded by them now Amy
wonders how she can avoid telling them the truth as she looks over to where her son, Chance,
is. She swore she would never tell a soul
the truth about her son.

"Who are you?" Lucy asks now.

Lucy is not
her real name. It is the name her second husband gave her after he removed
everything which belonged to her from her home, when they married on impulse
after meeting online last April. Who are
you, Lucy? Amy wonders this now. When she first moved to this neighborhood Amy
knew her as Anne. Now she is Lucy. Who is she to ask anything?

"Who is Chance?" Angela asks,
her European accent still strong.

Amy glances
toward her son again.

"Trust us, Amy!" Colby, who they
have all swooned over a bit this summer, tells her.

"Trust you?" Amy asks, giving a cool
look toward Betsy then glancing at her son again

Why should she
trust any of them with anything, let alone her son?

"Speak up!" Natasha says now, no
nonsense as usual. "What the hell is
going on, Amy?"

Amy stands
surrounded by them, wondering if they deserve the truth-- if she has to give it
to them. She supposes she does, Amy realizes. If anyone is owed the truth it is this group. Amy's voice crawls up from somewhere deep now as
she begins to speak the thing she promised herself she would never say to a single
soul. As they stand waiting to hear it,
all of their eyes on her, the weeks since Amy met these people back in June flows
through her. That day leading her to this moment of telling the truth--a truth that will change everything...
