Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Melissa Rife
As fall begins, the children are anxious to find all kinds of different activities to take part in. This book does a great job of illustrating and carrying you through all the great things about fall, using a rhyming text. Each page features minimal text, but a beautiful array of color. The children here do many things from going to school, raking and playing in the leaves, picking apples, getting carried away by the wind, attending the County Fair, and hiking. The main colors featured are the bright oranges and reds that are seen on all the leaves in the fall. By the end of the book, the chill of winter approaches and the children anticipate winter and snow. This simple book would be of great use in a younger classroom in discussing the seasons and especially fall. It could lead to a number of fall-related activities. As well, it is an easy read for young learners with simple words and illustrations to help carry the young reader through the text. Reading it, I, too, find myself wishing fall would come.
