Overview

On a cold February night in 2007, a devoted father of four and a seventeen-year-old drunk driver both received life sentences. In one violent, devastating instant, both faced a drastically different—and uncertain—future. But as Chris Williams sat in his demolished vehicle, staring at the car that had just caused the death of his wife, his unborn baby, his nine-year-old daughter, and his eleven-year-old son, he committed to do something extraordinary: he would forgive.

That decision launched Chris on a journey toward healing that impacted his family and friends, the young man who caused the accident, and an entire community—a community that would face another deadly tragedy just a few days later.

Chris's message of empowering forgiveness is an invitation to all who have suffered, however unjustly, to lay down their burdens and let it go.

I had no idea who has just hit us, and my mind didn't think to consider if they were all right or not, or what circumstances might have caused them to cross the median and strike us. I simply looked at the car in silence. Then I heard a voice that was not my own in my mind as clearly as if it had come from someone seated next to me. It was straightforward and filled with power, and the voice said, "Let it go!"

    Wow!

I felt so small after reading this book. I cannot begin to fathom this man's faith and ability to forgive--let it go. I don't think I could right away as he did. The uplifting part to me was Cameron's time in detention and this incident didn't send him further down the wrong path. He did change, is working on it and has chosen to turn a tragedy into a positive by speaking to young adults about the dangers of under age drinking. I would have liked to hear more of Cameron's experience but perhaps he will write a book about his experience one day. God Bless you all for what you have experienced and for sharing your story!

This is an amazing Christian story of Grace and Forgiveness. It

This is an amazing Christian story of Grace and Forgiveness. It has
changed my life. We need more love, tolerance and forbearance in the
world - less labeling, impatience and hatred. That was the point of the
bible - and that is the point of this story; to seek redemption by grace
    - and love and forgive our brother or sister - especially when they
offend us. To the person who gave this a one star rating because it's
"a mormon story", it is hard to kick against the pricks isn't
it. If by their fruits ye shall know them, then perhaps this Mormon is
one of the best examples of being a true Christian that you could hope
to find. God bless him and his family for this Christlike example of
    true love.
