Meet the Author

Melissa Collins has always been a book worm. Studying Literature in college ensured that her nose was always stuck in a book. She followed her passion for reading to the most logical career choice: English teacher. Her hope was to share her passion for reading and the escapism of books to her students. Having spent more than a decade in front of a classroom, she can easily say that it’s been a dream.
Her passion for writing didn’t start until more recently. When she was home on maternity leave in early 2012, she read her first romance novel and her head filled with the passion, angst and laughter of the characters who she read about it. It wasn’t long before characters of her own took shape in her mind. Their lives took over Melissa’s brain and The Love Series was born.

Good follow up to Let Love In. Maddy & Reid are a cute couple just dripping in sweetness overload. There are a few bumps in the road, but it is pretty obvious that they would get their Happily Ever After, so I am not spoiling it by saying that. LOVED the epilogue.
I love them as a couple and I like the set up for Mel. She obviously has a story to get off of her chest in Let Love Heal.

After not really liking the first book in the series, Let Love I

After not really liking the first book in the series, Let Love In, I went into this with low expectations. That way, if I ended up hating this as much as the first, I wouldn't be too disappointed. The characters weren't as annoying, and I really loved the inspiring messages that were brought out through the development of the story.

I adore the idea of healing love. I adore characters who are scarred and distant, yet find the courage to face their fears and let love into their hearts. I actually enjoyed the relationship that built between Maddy and Reid. They may have already been in it for six weeks, but in Let Love Stay, we see the perfect façade crumble. Because we all know that love and relationships aren't perfect, and it was great to see the two main characters wanting to do everything they can to make it right. We see Maddy and Reid find the strength to push past their differences and make their relationship work.

However, I still don't like Maddy. I don't know what it is about her that just makes me want to slap her, except that she doesn't change much from the first book. I didn't end up sympathizing with her that she lost Reid, because it was all her fault. She pushed him away because he reacted literally the same way she did when the doctor gave them the news. They split up; she whines about her life not being the same without him. And what does Reid do? He tries to move on from his past because it's the only way Maddy will take him back. Hunny, love is supposed to be healing. YOU should be there with him, helping him, supporting him. Instead, he's left to deal with the heartache of going home all on his own, because she pushed him to do it. Oh, and don't even get me started on her almost asking him to give up his internship because she didn't wanna be separated for a few months. Cry me a river, Maddy!

And I felt that Reid shouldn't have been portrayed as a bad boy in book one, because he's such a good boyfriend. He's so sweet and loving. He can never stay mad at Maddy for too long (even when she totally deserves it), and he wants to make something of himself. He wants his life to mean something. In the first book, I just didn't understand why his character was like that in the beginning. It made no sense, because it seems like he's always been this way, that he's always been this good guy with a heart of gold. I loved him! <3

But the biggest dislike was the story itself. You're probably wondering why I'm giving it three stars if I didn't even like the story, so I'll tell you. It was just the situations; every single cliché you can think of in books is in this series. I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll just talk about the few clichés from Let Love In. Excluding the bad boy and good girl cliché, there's also the fact that they both have painful pasts. However, the cliché situations that I'm talking about come out near the end of the book. I never saw that accident as helpful to the story-line; it was just there to bring out the biggest cliché that'll end up separating the characters in this book. If you don't know what I'm talking about, that's okay. You'll understand if you read it. Let's just say, it has a lot of the same old plot devices that are used in many contemporary romances.

Other than those minor dislikes, I really did enjoy this story! Like I said, I adore the thought that love heals. It should never be selfish, and it should never hurt more than it heals. Maddy and Reid were both scared of letting people too close, of losing more loved ones. There is so much character growth going on that the happily-ever-after ending made me smile. :) It was a nice ending to Maddy's and Reid's story, though it almost seemed too perfect.

This story continues right where it left off...Maddy tells Reid about her pregnancy and we follow them as they go their separate ways. When they finally do come together, it is pure magic!

I loved the friendship between Maddy and Melanie and how they are both there for each other. And I fell even more in love with Reid in this book!

    AMAZING!!!

I have to say that Melissa Collins did it again left me wanting

I have to say that Melissa Collins did it again left me wanting more.

I felt in love with Maddy and Reid in the first book (LET LOVE IN ) but I have to say that now I am more in love with this series, I love it how the book turned out to be and how it end up the story of Maddy and Reid and I love it how you get to see it from both point of view.
I waited for a while to read this story and I finally did and I am glad that I got to wait, because once I started reading it I couldn't put it down.

I love it how the story pick up right where it end it on the first book, I have to say that this story made me laugh, mad, and cried. But I love every single minute of it, I really love the characters and the role that they play, you really get to see how much they love and care for each other and how the family get to grow a little more, and you get to see through all the emotions that they are going through, and the pain that they are feeling its like you get to feel it right there with them, this is a beautiful romantic story that is fill with hope, love, and some drama too, but that's the thing about this story is that while I was reading it you get to relate some of the things that happen in this story with your life because at some point in our life we all go through the same or similar things.

I love the character of Maddy, we know that Maddy lost everything when her parents died at the age of ten, she was forced to start all over again and she did, and she has being through so much but that just made her stronger, and made her the woman that she became in this story responsible how to let people in and how much she care for the one that she love's and she fights for what she wants and I love her attitude and how she gets to handle what ever life through her way.
Oh I love the character of Reid, now let me say that Reid is gorgeous, sweet, loving and caring but at the same time he has an attitude that you never now if he's gone get angry or what he's gone do, we also know that he has a past and that he needs to work that out but I love it that he also fight for what he wants and that he doesn't give up.

I really enjoy this book and love to see how Maddy and Reid stick together to fight through everything they are going through they stay by each other side.
I just want to thank Author Melissa Collins for introducing me to this amazing characters and this awesome book. I hope that when you read this book you get to enjoy it and love it as much as I did. Cant wait to read more of her books.

if you enjoyed “Let Love In”, then you must – of course - read this follow up. Especially since LLI left us all with a bit of a cliffhanger, you just have to find out if Reid manned up…if Maddy and Reid can get past their issues and be together. The angst! The unknown! It’s all too much!

This pretty much picks up right where LLI ended. Reid has walked away from Maddy at a time when she needed him the most. He has some serious issues to get through, and then he has to try and win himself back in the good graces of Maddy…oy. It’s a tall order. However, you get to see Reid pretty much run the whole gamut of human emotions in this book. He goes from a boy to a man in a lot of ways, and works through his issues in order to be the man that Maddy needs and deserves. It was really a pleasure to read and follow his transformation.

Maddy’s character is just as complicated as Reid’s, and she has issues of her own to work out. I really felt like at the end of LLI, she was a bit unfair to him. She tried to mold him into something that he just wasn’t able to be, to give her things that he wasn’t able to give at that point in time. However, it took her ultimatum to ultimately shift both of them out of their comfort zones and confront things that needed to be confronted.

This is a really emotional story, and I have to give props to Melissa Collins for writing it so well. You feel everything right along with the characters, which is what grips you and pulls you into the story. I’m really glad I read both of these books back to back, because I would have been emotionally devastated to have to wait to find out what happened to Reid and Maddy!

This book fulfilled all the requirements for me for a good read. It was emotionally investing, well told, and well developed with good characters that capture your interest. I must also mention that there’s quite a bit of sex in this book. I’m all about the sexy-time (as you well know), but I have to admit at times, it felt like a bit of overkill. I never thought I’d say that, but there it is. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. 4 stars.

I so love Maddy and Reid.  I so would love to have Reid as a boy

I so love Maddy and Reid.  I so would love to have Reid as a boyfriend.  With Let Love Stay being the 2nd book in the series it was my favorite so far.  I love how Melissa picked up right where Let Love In stopped.  Through the "TIME APART" of Maddy and Reid to the end of the book I have to say it was a wonderful love story.  I love how Reid listened to Maddy and went and saw his mother when he found out she didn't have long to live.  He went to make peace with her.  Love how Reid stood up to his father when he saw him after his mom's funeral.

I love the friendship Maddy and Melanie have how they are both their for each other. To have a friendship like that have is very important. Mel didn't turn her back on Maddy when she found out she was pregnant nor did Mel's mother.

This book has made me laugh and has made me cry.  I do have to say this is my favorite love story. I so can not wait for the next book  Let Love Heal to see what Melissa has in store for Maddy,Reid and Melanie.

    4.5 stars
Maddy and Reid get it together and make their love work! For each other and themselves. Love alternating POV. Reid has to come to grips with his past and family- all the while working hard to keep his focus on school and Maddy.  Maddy has so much on her plate- but I have to say that I adore how they don't give up.  Is is hard? Yep.  But it is so worth it.  A truly beautiful love story with forgiveness and so much hope, am looking forward to Mel's story in Let Love Heal.

Melissa blew me away with the 1st book Let Love In, but I loved

Melissa blew me away with the 1st book Let Love In, but I loved this one even more!

Melissa took us on a rollercoaster of emotions! (Sadness, longing, fear, peace, anger, love, loss and more!)

Maddy is pregnant and says somethings she doesn't mean all because of fear and insecurities. She says things to Reid and he leaves... she hopes he will come back to her and their baby.

Reid is angry, scared but loves Maddy more than anything! He however, does need to find himself and hopes that things won't take too long for him to come back to Maddy/that she will take him back.

We get to see closure and peace in the book and that I loved!!

Maddy and Reid's relationship is rocky at times but whose isn't, that is real life.

All the characters in this book were well written, thought out and just overall fabulous!

I adored this book and it put a smile on my face long after I was done reading it while now writing this review! I hightly recommend this book to anyone who wants an awesome couple, closure, love, awesome friends and a HEA!

This book is amazing and I can't say enought positive things about it... I look forward to book 3 Let Love Heal about Mel and Bryan!!

    Reviewer: Bex
    Rating: 4.5 Fairies

The first thing that was obvious after just a short few chapters was that I believed in the author's world and her characters. Collins has created well-crafted three-dimensional characters who are deeply human. This immediately pulled me in and kept me hooked.

The unfolding drama surrounding Maddy and Reid was as endearing as it was frustrating. The descriptive detail was beautiful, and their reactions moving, yet there were times that I felt somewhat old. Dang it! Perhaps being in my mid-thirties, is making me a little more cynical?  Yet despite my bouts of feeling a little out of touch with the turmoil and emotions of a new adult, there were many levels that I could relate to the characters and their histories.

There's just enough back story to help remind us about the events of book one, Let Love In, without it becoming too repetitive, and the story line has enough depth to challenge the reader, whilst still enabling it to become a read that is easy to absorb.

Nicely crafted, creatively developed and overall a solid 4.5 fairy read.

**THIS BOOK IS FOR MATURE READERS ONLY!!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review and because I read the first book, Let Love In (review here). This book starts where the last one left off, with Maddy in the hospital after she's revealed the pregnancy to Reid. Reid does what he does best, throw a temper tantrum and storm off. But who can blame him? He's young and comes from a bad home life. He's never had this much responsibility and has never been in love before. Maddy is understandably crushed and does the only thing she can - she leaves to go stay with Momma & Melanie. She has to figure out what she's going to do, whether Reid is in her life or not.

This book is a new adult romance that has it all - sex, romance, love, heartache, drama and happily ever after. There are highs and lows and good times and bad, just as in life. The relationship between Maddy & Reid is so hot it is combustible. They both love each other to the ends of the earth and back but they both have a lot of immaturity and history to get past if they are ever going to stay together. I don't always like new adult romance, but this is a good story, with good characters that makes you feel something as you read. This isn't always a feel good story, but it does have a happy ending that will make you smile.

Perfect continuation of Maddy and Reid's story!

I just finished this book last night and loved it! The continuation of Maddy and Reid's love story was well done. We got to see how the characters got back together and faced some tough life events at such a young age.

Melissa, thank you for another great book! Can't wait to read Mel and Bryan's story next.

Melissa Collins has done it again. This book is breathtaking and

Melissa Collins has done it again. This book is breathtaking and simply beautiful. It is the continuation of the Love Series, following Let Love In. Let Love Stay continues Maddy and Reid’s story of love and strength and most of all acceptance.

Maddy has pushed Reid away and she knows it. But she didn’t expect it to be like this. Alone, pregnant and not sure what to do about the loss of the love of her life, Maddy returns to Momma’s and tries to figure out how she is going to do this and more importantly how to get Reid to forgive her.

What Maddy doesn’t realize is that Reid is just as torn up about running away from her. He loves Maddy with all his heart and she is the strength he needs to get through the biggest obstacle in his life, the one that Maddy pushed him into: Seeing his mother for the first time since he left home all those years ago.

Facing his demons and tackling it without Maddy along side is going to be difficult, but he knows what his heart wants and he wants it too. He wants to be the one that Maddy needs in her life. Maddy is his world and he just cannot seem to break free knowing that he is alone and without her.

Once again, Melissa Collins has tugged at my heart and made me feel for Maddy and Reid and their relationship. Struggling to keep from fast-forwarding to the end, I pushed through this book at a record pace. I needed to know how things would finally end or if that would be the end of this amazing relationship.

Reid once again stole my heart and I wanted so badly to reach through the pages and hug him while he dealt with the issues that have scarred his life for so long. The wall he put up because of his past, learning and acceptance that he must go through was painful to read. My heart ached so badly for him and his circumstances.

Maddy spent the time away from Reid wondering what was going to happen if he didn’t forgive her for the mistakes she made in pushing him away and pushing him to confront his past so they could move on and have a relationship not terrorized by demons from the past. But would Reid forgive her? My heart wanted so badly for them just to be together that it was painful to watch them apart. But more than getting Reid back, Maddy had to figure out how exactly she was going to tackle the rest of her life, especially now that she is pregnant.

The push and pull of their lives apart and together left me gasping for air at times. I was so in awe by these two in the first book that Let Love Stay pushed me even further. Melissa Collins has such an amazing way of reaching deep down and making the character connections and again, I fell in love with all of the characters in this book. This book made my new fictional friends come to life and I just can’t seem to get enough of any of them!

Together they could face the world and get through anything, but apart they struggled to take their next breaths. The transformation of Maddy and Reid in this book was so moving and left my heart in awe. I loved the first two books in this series and I cannot wait for more!

    ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!

I couldn't have asked for a better ending to a BEAUTIFUL love story. I love a good cleansing cry when it's for happiness & love. The characters in this series are so wonderful. Melissa makes then seem so real in her writing. Reid turns out to be the most loving, kind, romantic and sexy man. And Maddy is about the sweetest girl you could ever imagine meeting. And dispite what she went through growing up she gives love with her whole heart. I look forwar to the rest of the books on the rest of the characters to follow. I can't wait to see if Momma finds love again. Nobody deserves it more. I recommend this series to everyone. Thank You Melissa. BRAVO

    Inspiring!

This book is amazing! This story changed the definition of FAMILY for me! Family is your group that is there for you through think and thin and loves you unconditionally.

What was unexpected for me was the way I felt about Dylan. Reid's brother, Shane, had a huge impact on Reid's and Dylan's life which brought them back together in the end. Working for The Bridge, Reid and Dylan now help others who may be going through similiar situations they went through. What better way to honor Shane! (Heart melts) I am excited to read Mel's story and eventually Dylan's story!

This book left me feeling like I want to be a better person. I want to let my family and friends know just how much I love them and what they mean to me! Most of all, I want to be more open-minded! Shane's story did that to me! I never want anyone to feel bad for who they love or how they love. Thank you Melissa Collins!

This is an amazing follow up to Let Love In! If you haven¿t read

This is an amazing follow up to Let Love In! If you haven’t read book 1, then you should and you probably don’t want to read this review. You can just skip on down the page to view the synopsis of Let Love In and find a link to my review.

Ok, now on to Let Love Stay. I. LOVED. IT! It’s the perfect follow up for Reid and Maddy. They are both so broken, and their new circumstances have really thrown them for a loop. We get to meet some new characters who really round out this little family of 2 who thought they were totally alone. Of course, there is more heartbreak to come, but there is also so much healing in this book. Not only between Maddy and Reid, but it extends so much further.

Once again Melissa Collins captured my heart with this book. I only fell in love with Reid even more, even though sometimes I wanted to shake some sense into him. He’s a very broken young man, but he has a great heart. And he’s perfect for Maddy, who I just love. And together they make the perfect imperfect couple.

I think you will be completely satisfied with the conclusion to Maddy and Reid’s story, but don’t worry! Melissa’s not done yet. There will be more LOVE! Yep, she’s already announced that book 3 Let Love Heal, will be Melanie’s story and is expected to be live in October. So don’t wait! Check out Let Love Stay NOW!
