Let Me Hear Your Voice is a mother's illuminating account of how one family triumphed over autism. It is an absolutely unforgettable book, as beautifully written as it is informative.

A Must Read For Any Parent Of An Autistic Child

If you are going to read one book about autism, this should be it. After all the other books I've read on the subject this is by far the best: the most helpful, and the most rewarding.

    What a fairy tale

I admit I never finished this book. I got to the part where the child started talking miraculously at age 12 months. That means the kid never had autism! There was never any concrete evidence that the child did, just the mother's paranoia and one early intervention specialist who bought into it. You can't cure autism by sitting on the floor and playing with your kid non stop. As a mother of a child with autism, I felt I needed to write this review. Don't buy into the guilt of thinking you can change your child's neurobiology by being a supermom, and if your child doesn't do well it's because of something you did or didn't do. I can't believe the average rating of this book was 5 stars!!!!

The best book I've read so far on childhood autism!

Written in terms we can all understand, this book is informative, hope-
inspiring and uplifting. I consider it a "must read" for all who have or know autistic children including teachers, pediatricians and therapists. All my grandson's therapists had read it but didn't suggest it to me-now how can that be so?!! I'm presently starting another book Catherine Maurice co-wrote with some of the wonderful professionals that helped her with her own children. It promises to be even more helpful: "Behavioral Intervention for Young Children with Autism." Yes, it is rather pricey and looks like a textbook, but I believe it will help me with my own struggles helping my grandson.

    A Family Struggles With Autism

A well written and extremely honest account of a mother's struggle to help her autistic children. Helpful to those who must deal with autism on a daily basis. A good read for everyone.

    a wonderful and intimate account

Catherine Maurice shares with the reader her joys, her fears and her pain as she struggles with a diagnosis of autism. She illustrates strength, honesty and determination. The book is real. It is a true account that children can recover from autism with early intervention.

this was the first book i read after becoming interested in autism. and after having read many more books about this epidemic, it is still by far the best. a must read for anyone who has dealt with this disability or has an interest in it.
