Fascinating read but too many questions unanswered

Ideas of life after death can create vivid and unusual stories. Lethe is no different. It's a great book and one I'd recommend. My only dissatisfaction is how many relevant questions remain unanswered in the end.

    Good read!

This was the fourth book by this author that I have read and it was my favorite. It seemed to go a little slowly in some parts, but overall it was enjoyable. Good ending!

    Good

Interesting look at 'life' after death. The writing style and vocabulary used took me a little getting used to, but the story was compelling enough to keep me reading.

    Confusing

I almost gave up on this book in the beginning. But then, the writing got good. I would have found this book impossible to read without a nook, constantly looking up unfamilar words and name origins. It was different, disturbing, even gross at times. So many twists and turns kept me guessing. Just when I thought I almost had it figured it out, a few more twists left me quite confused. I'll be pondering this one for a while to come.

    more from this reviewer

A little weird in a great way!

The story is dealing with an afterlife where stagnation can sometimes be a better individualistic choice and a need to move on doesn't always have good consequences, and is fascinating for that. A couple of semi-relevant questions are left up in the air, the most notable being, "Why was the gender change important/needed/useful to the story?", but other than that an amazing read, even if it's a little strange.

    What a gem!

I got this on a whim and was enchanted with the very first sentence! It makes me think of Lovecraft in a way with its style. Very nice find, hope to find more!

Well written but not one of my favorites from this author. I just didn't care for the tale that much.
