Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
The kids in the club are all excited about their field trip. They are off to the skating rink in the park. Alyssa is the one who has concerns. "What if I fall—won't that hurt?" The kids get their skates and head out onto the ice but Alyssa just cannot bring herself to try. The club manager, Mr. Mac, offers to skate with Alyssa and with his encouragement and help she is able to move along in her skates and even manages to do so without falling. (Better than this reviewer who used to fall constantly). The cartoon style illustrations fit the story, which provides a positive reinforcement for girls to get out there and give it a go.
