Michael Preston was born in Uganda and educated in Kenya, New Zealand, and England. He has been a Waldorf class teacher for the past twenty-three years in England and the United States, and has also served as a volunteer teacher in Vanuatu. Moving to Hawai'i in 1990, this violinist and guitarist enthusiastically took to the ukulele and music of Hawai'i and the South Pacific. In time, he created and developed a 'ukulele program and learning approach that appealed to students at his school, and it has in turn, been well received by his private students. Michael Preston is married with three grown children and three grandchildren.
