Overview

"I have wanted you for years," he breathed into my ear. "Now there's no one to say no, and I intend to have you tonight."

Violet's love life is so dead it belongs on life support. She has been trying to get Mark, the top salesguy at her office, to notice her for months, but he doesn't seem to know she's alive. When her sexy stepbrother Connor moves back into town, though, she sees a golden opportunity. She convinces Connor to pose as her boyfriend and come by the office to see if that will get Mark's attention. But Connor doesn't seem to want to stick to the script, his kisses are disturbingly real, and there's nothing make-believe about the chemistry between them. How will Violet choose between the guy that she wanted and the irresistible passion building with her off-limits stepbrother?

BANNED on Amazon! 8400 word short story. Includes excerpts from the Kelli Wolfe stories Double or Nothing, Hot for Brother, Falling for My Brother, and Riley's Passion.

EXCERPT

"Vi, there's someone named Connor here looking for you."

From the way her eyes sparkled I could tell that my big brother hadn't lost his touch, and a sudden irrational twinge of jealousy zapped me. I smiled and clenched my teeth and shoved the feeling way back into the cluttered closet of my brain where I wouldn't have to think about it.

"Thanks, Lorrie. I'll be right there."

It wasn't hard to see why she was drooling. When I rounded the corner and saw him leaning against her desk I felt something stir inside. His broad shoulders looked as though they might split the seams of his blue fitted Oxford shirt, and the way his jeans clung to his ass--was not something I needed to be thinking about my brother. But when he turned to me, his eyes laughing, his mouth curved up in a sardonic half-grin, my breath caught. I was willing to bet that half the girls in the office would have dropped their panties for him right then and there if he had asked.

"Connor," I said brightly, pretending to be surprised. "What are you doing here?"

"I came to bring you these." He waved at the mass of roses sitting on Lorrie's desk, and then his grin widened into something very wolf-like. "I wanted to thank you for this weekend."

I blushed. I couldn't help it; from the way he said it, every single person in the office was going to think we had spent the weekend engaged in a marathon sex session. Lorrie didn't even attempt to hide her smirk as she stared up at Connor. That jealous twinge snuck out of its closet and dug cold claws into my heart. I didn't know what was up with that, but I was going to have to rethink my offer to set Connor up with her.

I looked down at my toes so I wouldn't have to meet his eyes, afraid that if I blushed any harder my face would melt. "The flowers are beautiful, but you didn't have to."

"Oh, but I did." He took a step closer, his cologne wafting over me in a spicy breeze. "After Saturday, I would have to be a total jerk to do anything else."

Another step and my heart started to pound like I was a gazelle being stalked by a lion. What the hell was wrong with me?

"Thank you. They really are beautiful."

"So are you."

I felt his arms go around me, and when I looked up in surprise his lips landed on mine. This was not in the script! I was too shocked to do anything but stand there while he kissed me, my arms waving feebly until my body decided that while I might be an idiot it wasn't, and started to kiss him back. He pulled me tightly against him and I whimpered as his tongue slipped between my lips to tease and play against mine. Without conscious thought my body responded to him, my nipples crinkling and a quiver arising between my thighs.

Connor straightened, breaking the kiss and loosening his arms around my waist, his eyes alight with laughter. It took a minute to sink in that it was over, but then I quickly dropped my arms and stepped back.

"I've got errands to run," he said, "but I wanted to stop by here first. Call me this evening when you get home from work?"

I couldn't find my voice to answer him before he was gone. A deep hush lay over the office, and then all at once the silence broke as everyone pretended to be busy with something. Lorrie looked at the flowers on her desk and sighed.

"Where on earth did you find him, and are there any more where he came from?"

"I'm pretty sure he's the only one," I replied weakly, scooping up the vase full of roses, "and believe me, that's more than enough."

Meet the Author

I'm a nurse by day, and a smut writer by night. It's my secret identity, like I'm Supergirl or something. Only my super power is making people read one-handed.

I'm working on two new series right now. Sweet Nothings is new adult erotic romance about a group of girls who were ignored by boys all through high school but when they go to college things start to get more interesting. These are all longer stories, written as very steamy erotic romances. The Perils of Polly is about a college senior who is always getting into some sort of trouble and sex is usually the only way out. These are shorter stories with a much higher proportion of sex, a lot like the Preacher's Daughters series.

Hope you can find something in there to enjoy, and thanks to everyone leaving reviews - you guys rock!

*kisses*
