Laura Miller writes, tap dances, plays piano, hikes, feeds and picks up after a variety of people and four-legged creatures, and keeps a mostly messy house. She reads aloud and tells stories from a purple chair, or, if she's not in her living room, from behind a podium to a larger audience.
