Peter's story is truly a tragedy, it seems no matter how happy he wants to be, he's always doomed for tragedy, and from his last entry, it seems like he's willing to break that streak and find the happiness that he truly deserves, though, possibly not with Alice. Anyone who feels that there wasn't enough of Peter in the previous 4 books should read this. He's really a funny, thoughtful, romantic, and all around good guy (I'd like to see Jack write something like this). If only Alice had given him a chance. So definitely read this book if you're a Peter fan, you won't regret it. He's really a lovable character.

Letters to Elise is just the perfect compliment to My Blood Approves Series. Letters to Elise gave a different way of feeling and seeing to My Blood Approves through Peters emerald eyes. I am waiting for a 5th book!!

First, let me say that I absolutely love Amanda's writing; so few authors can make you literally giggle while reading alone in your bedroom and cause you to fall in love with the characters as if you knew them yourself.
I am a big fan of My Blood Approves and always rooted for Peter, but I was a bit hesitant to pick up a compilation of letters. Oftentimes I find this format takes away from the flow of the story and I prefer a femal POV. However, this book flowed so well and I finished it in about 2 1/2 hours! I could not put it down and the length was perfect: not too long that it dragged but not too short that there were too many loose ends.
This really felt like a real compilation of letters and Hocking gavce each writer their own tone and style. This novella leaves you wishing for the next installment in the My Blood Approves series and really gives insight into Peter's character. It is a great afternoon read.
P.S. if you haven't picked up Hocking's Trylle Trilogy, it is a must read!!!! So funny and original and I cannot wait for the final installment (Hocking is phenomenal about publishing her books in a timely manner!)

In this novella, everything is explained as to why Peter is the way it is. It explains everything about him that wasn't explained before. In this stunningly heart-felt book we see through the cover of lies Peter has hidden himself in, we see him in his purest form, we see the real him. The great thing about this book was that it gave a sense of closure to the whole series without giving everything away and at the same time it felt like its own story, Peter's story. At points, I wanted to weep and at others I felt so terribly happy. The ending wasn't really an ending though, for immortality never is. Definitely something to read while waiting for the next addition to the My Blood Approves series.

It seemed to be a lot of frustrated whining. It was a hard read and I am an avid fan of Amanda Hocking. Just not this one.

Always love Novella insight. Truly lets you into Peter's mind and understand the love he had for Elise.

Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.I read all of the My Blood Approve Series...Actually devoured would be a more appropriate term. The actual series is amazing. The arc of the stories and the characters leave you feeling full and engrossed in the lives of the characters.
Then i took a break before reading this novella...And now i wish i hadn't. Before anyone turns off or yells at me the reason i say this is NOT because of the writing. The writing is amazing as with all of Hocking's books. The reason i wish hadn't read this book is because no i REALLY don't like Peter. The book made me dislike him and his reasons for things.
Sorry Peter...I think i just became a Jack fan

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was nicve to see the back story to Peter and helped you get a better understanding of his actions in the previous series. After reading this I want to re-read the series again in it's entirety. Thanks Amanda!!!

I thought it was cool that we were able to get a look into Peter and get a understanding as to way he treats Alice like crap. I just wish it was longer but its a novella. I want to read one like this about Jack I think that would be intresting as well. To get a look into his background even though he's not that old and to see how he really felt about the whole Alice & Peter thing.
