If you are in need of both hope and direction in your struggle with cancer, read this book. Each chapter begins with a brief note to her year-old daughter and is followed by her personal experience from diagnosis through multiple rounds of treatment to cancer-free. She offers solid advice (e.g., find another doctor if you have to, what you eat is critical, etc.) and resources to help both the cancer patient as well as the family and friends. Her experience may be just the example you or a loved one may need to keep going.
