As far as internal inconsistency goes, you don't need to look any further than the protagonist's "unerring sixth sense" that flares up when "two iron-strong hands seized him from behind," or when the man he's in the middle of a fight with throws an explosive right at him, or even better, when "everyone heard a piercing scream." Seems as if the normal five senses are all that are necessary there, and all that are used. If you like thick prose and an inconsistent story framework, then try this one.
