Overview

When Adam Wainwright's mother was struck with LBD in 2000, he discovered an alarming lack of material for understanding, treating, and living with the disease. After his mother passed, he worked with Erik Stevenson, MD to create a book aimed not just at caregiving but only helping patients understand the disease and the disease process. In "Lewy Body Dementia: Causes, Tests and Treatment Options," the authors provide the reader with an abundance of information that is easy to understand and can be applied to the lives of those that are affected by this disease whether they are friends or family. The book guides you through the battery of diagnostics that should be performed to eliminate other disease processes. These include laboratory work, mental assessment, neurological exams, and an electroencephalogram. You'll also discover which medications work -- and which should be avoided at all costs. The caregiver's guide prepares loved ones for the journey of caring for a LBD patient. Finally, a comprehensive resources section has dozens of LBD resources, from national organizations to online support groups. If you or a loved one are suffering from LBD, this informative book gives you all the information you need to know about the causes, tests and treatment options for this devastating disease. Also includes a comprehensive LBD glossary and caregiver tips.

Lewy Body Dementia: Causes, Tests, and Treatment Options is a bo

Lewy Body Dementia: Causes, Tests, and Treatment Options is a book that explains what Lewy Body Dementia is, how you can recognize it, and how are the best ways to help and care for those who are affected with this disease. This book not only explains these things, but also points out that the individuals affected by this disease are real individuals, each with his own story. This fact is important to keep in mind, even when we only meet them at this advanced form in life, and even in the dementia process.
This book offers practical suggestions about how to better care for those who suffer from Lewy Body Dementia, such as keeping a familiar schedule to keep them feeling safe and reduce anxiety, patting them while you talk to them, or using gestures to help them better understand what you are saying. It also offers suggestions on different possible treatments, such as various types of therapies, and offers a list of additional contacts and resources to consult to learn more.

Being a technical person I am always after new, unknown technica

Being a technical person I am always after new, unknown technical and medical issues. Whenever I have leisure time I gather information related to these fields. This time I was after a mysterious disease "Lewy Body Dementia", a completely new medical issue/disorder for me. After going through many books and internet sources, luckily I stumble upon this book "Lewy Body Dementia; Causes, Tests and Treatment Options".

In this book the author has brilliantly compiled all the must-know facts such as; causes, symptoms, tests, risks, remedies/treatment options associated to the mysterious disease-"Lewy Body Dementia" in a very efficient, effective and interesting manner. This book is perfect from every single way; quality standards of technical-writes, the easy-to-grasp sentence structures. Each and every section in this book is widely, deeply, well investigated, factual contents. It is completely free of fill-ups. The author has been successfully able to reveal/unlock the hidden facts and information regarding Lewy Body Dementia in a grandonise fashion. To name few; Diagnosis of Lewy Body Dementia, different Forms of Dementia, Difficulties in Diagnosing DLB for Doctors and Families, Differences Between Lewy Body Dementia and Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease Dementia and many more. Surprisingly the book even tells about Medical Treatments as well as Non-Medical Treatments for DLB.

Without a doubt this book is the weightiest one and successfully offers information more than any other books or sources written on "Lewy Body Dementia". It comprises of everything that you necessitate to know. Most of all it is very versatile in read, written focusing both medical as well as normal readers. The book also suggests the list of Organizations, Health Care Providers, and resources so that one can directly consult them to understand the disease more precisely. I'm extremely grateful to the author for publishing such a wonderful book. Absolutely recommended!
