I first conceptualized the idea for “Liars, Hypocrites & the Development of Human Emotion” when I was in my early twenties. The problem today is the same problem as back then. It is an unreadable book. I doubt there is a single person in this world that could read it cover to cover without it breaking their heart and leaving them scarred. It’s unreadable in that I intentionally left certain errors stand because it is a testament as my evolution as a writer. “Liars, Hypocrites and the Development of Human Emotion was never meant to be a readable book, but a testament that an illiterate man could learn to write and someone who had kept their feelings bottled up could release the Genie. It was back then and it remains so today.

A collection of 450 poems and 14 short stories that encompass the Human Experience. An excellent example of form and free verse including Sonnets, Huitains, Haiku, Rondeau, and a revival of the Chant Royal among the many forms.

Meet the Author

T J Therien was born May 25th 1968 and grew up in the Greater Toronto Area. T J stopped breathing as a baby when the rings of his trachea constricted requiring a tracheotomy. T J had stopped breathing for long enough that his parents were warned that there may be significant developmental issues. T J struggled in school, dropping out of school at age fifteen, almost illiterate. T J taught himself to read and write. T J has worked in the Hotel Restaurant Industry, Warehousing and Logistics, Construction and a wide range of odd jobs as well as serving briefly with the 48th Highlanders. T J has battled though substance abuse and bouts of depression using writing as therapy. In 2002 T J relocated to the Eastern Townships in Quebec where he currently resides and continues to write.
