Liberation is book one in the Andrusian Chronicles. Amora Madre doesn't realize the destiny she is about to fulfill. She believes she is set in life, she runs a successful metaphysical school in the Smokey Mountains, she has two imaginary friends named Casey and Nia, who guide and protect her and she has recently found her soul mate, Gabriel Ephraim. Everything in life couldn't be more perfect, until she gets an urgent feeling that she HAS to move to Washington, D.C. and giving up everything she loves, she makes the move unbeknown as to why. Her game plan is to commute to her school each week in order to maintain her business and her teachings. However, those of the dark work against her and she is asked to take a leave of absence as her school is taken over by the board. Heartbroken and distressed, she tries to come to terms with the events unfolding in her life. On the day she gets the call from Mawari, the president of the Intergalatic Supernatural Intelligence Agency, ISIA, her destiny begins to take shape. Gabriel and Amora have signed up for the assignment of bringing love to the world. In order to do this, they must keep under the radar of the dark forces that surround the planet Earth. There are four races of beings that inhabit the Earth, using it as their playground. The race of Andrusians, of which Amora and Gabriel belong, are beings of light and creativity. They understand that only love can help advance a planet and their inhabitants. And for many millenia they are content in basking in their love and creating wonderful creatures and things out of that love. After The Age of Creations is over, they are unaware of any other forces until the time when their idyllic life is distrupted. The two shadow predator races are the Scorpillian's are also known as the Lords of Suffering, they work with the Draconians, Lords of Illusion, to bring never ending strife and turmoil to the planets they encounter. The Scorpillians are the more violent of the two races, they are infamous for their soulless ways, their subconscious weapons and their mental torture. The Draconians are more physical in their violent nature, to them, physical weapons and war are their obsessions and they enjoy causing deception to the ruling governments of any world. They are ruled by Hakan and Tadashi and with their combined power, everything they touched, fell to their rule. The final race are the Velarians, who are logic-based and collectors of information. They believe in observing everything they come across without any known involvement. They are non-violent race content on spending their time in the background. They decide to co-exist with the two dark races in order to observe the outcome of the chaos the two races reign. They aren't big on politics and are an ally to no one, remaining neutral to all. The two dark forces have decided that Earth is to be their next playground and the Andrusians do their best to stop the forces that are gathering. They are weak in council and must make their own hidden in order to succeed in their own mission of love. Amora and Gabriel are in charge of that mission, they must find the dark forces before the spirit clamps realize and abort their mission by creating a loop, and the process would have to start all over again. The timeline to correct the dark forces is now and Amora and Gabriel were born just to make sure this time love doesn't fail. Will they be successful or will th

Liberation is a fast-paced paranormal fantasy that brings to life how one can go from living a small-town, peaceful existence in the Smoky Mountains to a high drama, high energy, spiritual battle in the skies of Washington D. C. Madre Amore is joined by her soulmate, Gabriel, and together they must combine forces with the ISIA, Intergalactic Supernatural Intelligence Agency, to battle the evil supernatural beings that are trying to control and overthrow all world events. Follow them and their friends as they converge together as they unravel historical mysteries and learn about how their lives have been controlled and created by all of these outside forces. Will they survive the darkness and evil that threatens the world? Will they find peace and harmony for all in the end? Come on their journey and see how their reality compares to real life and how it has somewhat of a ring of truth running through the total tale. This is definitely a story for someone who enjoys a good, thought-provoking science fiction fantasy. You have to keep those pages turning, because you just need to know what is going to happen next. Ms. Lucia did a wonderful job in creating her characters and I loved the dialogue, especially between Madre and her friends, Nia and Casey. The way she drew it out made it even more believable for their fantasy existence. I would highly recommend this story to anyone who enjoys paranormal fantasy reads with alot of science fiction involved. This book was kindly provided to me by Pump Up Your Book Tours for my honest review.

In her premier novel, Maria Lucia offers her readers a thought-provoking journey into the realm of the paranormal and the battle between the forces of good and evil. Her central characters give one hope for a new and promising world, one where love, peace and harmony will exist. They make the reader want to believe there are greater forces at work in the universe, and these beings may even take the time to focus on our fragile planet and right the wrongs that have taken centuries to accrue. For fantasy readers who love their country this is a must read!

Liberation is an appropriate title for book one of Maria Lucia's intergalactic, otherworldly chronicle. The tale follows a spiritual teacher living in the Smokey Mountains named Amora Madre, and her soul mate Gabriel Ephraim, as they fight to restore liberty and democracy in the U.S. from an evil, supernatural syndicate with its tentacles firmly gripped on the Capitol. With no recollection of their previous lives in Andrusia, a peaceful planet tucked away in a different region of the Milky Way, Gabriel and Amora arrive on earth unknowingly possessing telepathic and prophetic capabilities. As they age, they're predetermined paths inevitably cross, and, recognizing an undeniable connection with one another, Gabriel and Amora eventually realize they are soul mates. They're peaceful lives are then disrupted by an inexplicable calling to D.C., where they are approached by a powerful Intergalactic Supernatural Intelligence Agency who tasks them with their purpose since birth: to prevent two powerful dark spirits in a Dark Syndicate from instilling war, pain, torture, and hunger on earth, and to restore peace. Lucia takes turning points in American history like the signing of the Declaration of Independence and both world wars, and spins them so their circumstances are really the culmination of centuries of malicious planning by dark forces, rather than years of dogged compromise. With the tears and bloodshed that already define America's history, in Liberation Lucia incorporates the element of the supernatural to explain away hostile takeovers and decades of sweeping warfare. In this sense, the world Lucia creates opens up the door for possibility, that the scarred world as we know it may not be the result of our wrongdoing, but of the damnation of otherworldly forces, which makes for a very engaging read. Liberation is only book one of the Andrusian Chronicles, and will no doubt be an enchanting series. And as with all fantasy fiction, Lucia creates a portal for us to step through, another dimension other than our own, which is always welcome at the outset of any read. It wasn't hard to take the plunge into Lucia's world. I found myself caught up in the spirit world, wishing I could travel to other dimensions and nip through time and space without effort. But a few times I felt lost on Amora's awareness of her standing in the spirit world. She begins as the storyteller and naturally segues into the plot after losing her memory and touching down on Earth from Andrusia. As the story threads on, and events in the spirit world begin to call to her more strongly, it became a bit foggy as to whether or not she remembered her previous life. There were moments when she had visions that seemed to imply she was aware of something bigger in her past, and even as the novel wore on she seemed to recall certain people like Guardian Mother and Mawari, the presidents of ISIA. But as the battle between worlds drew closer, it seemed she and Gabriel grew more and more puzzled as to why they were being tasked with the great purpose of protecting America. Even after they're supernatural abilities had long made it clear they weren't like other human beings, and Amora had gained powerful insight into horrible future events. The story itself though, can stand on its own. Similar to James Cameron's Avatar, Lucia creates a divine, loving spirit world so unlike our own you can't help but wish it were real.

Reviewed by Paige Lovitt for Reader Views (05/10) What if one day you suddenly discover that nothing is as it really appears to be? You find out that your imaginary friends from childhood are real, just not real human. You learn that there are supernatural forces at work that are responsible for horrible events that are occurring in the United States. Talk about experiencing a paradigm shift! In "Liberation," this is what happens to Amora Madre. She finds herself being pulled from her comfortable life in the Smokey Mountains to Washington, DC, where she discovers that she has been chosen by the Intergalactic Supernatural Intelligence Agency to help fight an wicked supernatural syndicate that has evil plans of destroying the balance of good and evil on the planet. Joining Amora in this battle is her soul mate Gabriel, and Casey and Nia, who she discovers are Onaweyans, and not just products of her childhood imagination. The team finds themselves being able to travel through other spiritual dimensions and having to deal with supernatural creatures that are larger than life. When they realize that the United States has been under the control of this darkness for ages, they go through the dimensions and time to battle the evil, and enlist the aid of the founding fathers of the United States. This adventure really helps the couple learn how powerful they truly are. "Liberation" is a really uniquely written novel. The author ties together actual devastating events that have happened in the United States, with real historical characters, and an evil supernatural syndicate. This combination is very thought-provoking and makes you think, "What if?" There are so many natural catastrophic events happening on our planet today, along with ones caused by power hungry, evil humans, that reading "Liberation" makes you believe that the idea for this novel could really be based upon some truth. That is truly a scary thought! I highly recommend this novel. I think that readers who enjoy paranormal fantasies will appreciate the unique ideas that tie the plot together.
