Children's Literature - Carol Ann Lloyd-Stanger
When Oliver Carter comes to work for Dr. Benjamin Church, he already has something to hide. Oliver is a patriot and is being pursued by a British officer who is determined to maintain Britain's control over the colonies. He tries to do his best for Dr. Church, but in Boston it is impossible for Oliver to avoid the cause of the rebels. Dr. Church is working for the cause of liberty, and Oliver offers his support. Others working with Dr. Church put Oliver to work, but Oliver manages to intercept a message that indicates Dr. Church is a spy for the British. When Oliver goes to Paul Revere with his suspicions, he is asked to help trap the doctor, but doing so will likely put his own life in danger. How much will Oliver be willing to risk for the cause of freedom? The book contains "The Real History behind the Story," which tells the facts associated with the treachery of Benjamin Church. This book is part of the "Historical Fiction Adventures" series. Reviewer: Carol Ann Lloyd-Stanger
