    Not just for children!

I¿m no child and I love this book! I¿m also no great pianist, but I can read music, play a little, and am willing to practice until I get it. This is one of my favorite books for practice because the great kids¿ songs make me smile, so it¿s really fun to learn them. It¿s one of the happiest books I¿ve ever owned. Who couldn¿t love ¿Sing a Song of Sixpence¿ or ¿Frere Jacques¿ ?

The Library of Children's Piano Pieces is Outstanding

I am a music teacher in New York and I am thrilled to have purchased the Library of Children's Piano Pieces compiled by Amy Appleby and Peter Pickow. This book is absolutely perfect for teaching general music classes as well as for youngsters studying piano two or more years. The book contains over 150 selections that will entertain students for hours. The repertoire includes 10 animal songs, 16 just for fun songs, 13 quiet time songs, 16 songs of the American people, 12 music of many lands, 11 opera and ballet classics, 8 marches and anthems and last but not least 68 songs of the great composers such as Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Haydn, Mozart and Schumann. The book is bound by a durable plastic binding and will stay open without bending the center of the book. The print is large and the pages are bright in this user-friendly collection. Many of the songs have words to make practicing more enjoyable. There are beautiful illustrations and interesting concise biographies of the great composers. This book is an excellent foundation for a course in children's music appreciation. At less than 15 cents per song, this book is a real bargain.
