Overview

Three girls, two guys, five secret journals.

The five most popular students at Noble High have secrets to hide; secrets they wrote down in their journals. Now one of their own exposes the private entries...

When our parents were growing up they were encouraged to make mistakes. That's how they learned. But us? Our mistakes go viral. There is no delete button on the Internet. What kind of future do we have if we can't escape our embarrassing pasts? I must come off as quite the hypocrite; complaining about our overexposed lives in a book of secret journals I have leaked. But these pages hold proof of how this pressure affects the "best" of us... so until the heat's turned down, keep reading.

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Jill Walton
A blooming actress makes a faux pas and feels “all Guilty Hawn.” A teen will have no problem understanding this format of diary entries and the innuendos of pop culture. Lisi Harrison, the author, is a prolific writer for all teens uses her wacky humor and knowledge of teen angst to write about the deceptions, hypocrisy, competitions, and crises’ that teenagers experience. She writes about bizarre situations. A girl’s attraction to a boy is misunderstood and he calls the police. One teen is in conflict with her parents about her home schooling; she just wants to be a part of a classroom and avoid making A’s. A frustrated budding actress is never, never going to be recognized; but still, maybe, someday? And then there are romances that backfire or never fire; gay friends who pretend; and parents who cheat. All the players are pretenders and they are all growing into good people. Reviewer: Jill Walton; Ages 12 up.

While I realize I am not the target audience for this author¿s w

While I realize I am not the target audience for this author’s work, it usually doesn’t present such a disconnect and frustration with the flaws in character, plot and conclusion. I could be encouraged to understand these characters better had there been solid construction of real people, rather than the slightly one-dimensional paper dolls that are presented. I loved the first book (except for the abrupt ending), and I enjoyed this book for the same reason---each character was unique and the author did a great job switching voices to keep them that way.
Some loose ends got tied up in this book while other cans of worms were being opened....a good balance for a series.
    Looking forward to book 3.
