Overview

Attractive, sturdy bindings, numerous photographs, well-spaced text, and up-to-date information make these books a good purchase. Each begins with a two-page spread of facts. Chapters detail different aspects of the occupation, describing a day on the job, qualifications, training, and the market outlook. The information provided is sound and straightforward, and in some cases surprisingly specific considering the length of the work. The strength of the series is that it puts things together in one place in a n appealing, user-friendly package. One weakness is that the value and reliability of the Internet sites vary among titles, with Athletic Trainer being the best. Through intended from elementary readers, these four titles can also be used in secondary schools that have a demand for materials about specific occupations at a very easy reading level. At the end of each book is a glossary, a bibliography, Internet sites, relevant addresses, and an index.
