Lie to Meby Jonny Lang
It reads like an old-time movie script: Teenager from Anytown, U.S.A. learns to play guitar, gets a record deal, sells a million copies of his first album, and tours the country with the biggest names in the business. For Jonny Lang, the pride of Fargo, North Dakota, it all came true with the release of Lie to Me in January 1997, which hit the streets one day before Lang's 16th birthday. On Lie to Me, Lang combines youthful good looks, genuine guitar talent (the Albert Collins influence is apparent), and a sincere love of music to create a record that is wise beyond his years. Although Lang has yet to blossom fully as a vocalist, he's still smart enough to utilize his other strengths. Relying on restrained production and a good ear, he blends blues, R&B, funk, and rock into an appealing, radio-friendly sound that shatters demographic barriers -- and turned the title track into a hit. Not bad, for a beginner.

Jonny has found the truth!
Wow is all I can say. This CD is excellent.
This album touches on real life. Reminds me of Bruce Springsteen and old Bob segar songs. These songs bring back memories. His voice is wonderful as well as his guitar playing!! I am now a die hard Jony Lang fan!!
great work johnny,im thirty eight years old and i have a son your age,but he doesnt know music like you know it.i love it.i listen faithfully everyday to wander this world, ive turned so many people on to your music and they like it as much as me,not!
if you don't own this cd, run to your nearest record store asap! i had purchased wander this world after just hearing one track. i loved it, so when i came across lie to me, thought i would give it a listen. with out a doubt, my favorite so far! keep up the great work. looking forward to more. got my husband and 17 year old son hooked too. felt like i had been cheated not hearing his music up until a year ago!!!
As a public radio volunteer DJ it's great to have a true upbeat music influance on his generation. He gets a lot of air time in Kotzebue Alaska (at least w/this album-we'll see about the rest). ''MOJO''
I've just heard Jonny Lang for the first time in Blues Brothers 2000. I rushed out to buy some of his music. Wow! This young blues artist has captured my heart and ear. He has an awesome style and sings with such feeling. His voice and style remind me of so many great artists: Joe Cocker, James Brown, Janis Joplin, and Michael Bolton for starters, with a lot of his own lifes experiences added in. I'm holding my breath, waiting for an appearance in our area (Sacramento). I highly recommend this young man's music to anyone who enjoys rock and blues. He's at the top of my list of favorites! My 19-year-old son and I listen together. He thinks Jonny is hot too!
This was my wakeup call for this great artist. He is something fresh for all teenagers and old folks like me. He feels the music and makes you feel it!! This is a must listen album. Keep us feeling and keep us listening. If you like SRV you will like J. Lang. Just think he is just getting started, I can't wait to hear the rest of his work.
Smokin..cd player is literally on fire..young brother, you are destined to be the man at the rate you are going..greatest blues sound coming from anyone lately..keep up the jams, the world needs more players.
