Overview

Two hundred years after a nuclear apocalypse forced humanity to flee earth, humans still remember the most feared warriors of that planet—-the Paratwa, genetically modified killers who occupy two bodies controlled by one vicious mind. The legendary Paratwa named Reemul, known as the Liege-Killer, was the strongest of them all. Now someone has revived Reemul from stasis and sent him to terrorize the peaceful orbital colonies of Earth. Is this an isolated incident, or has the one who unleashed this terrible power announced a gambit for control over the entire human race?

Earth is a blistered wasteland. The orbital colonies have rebuilt civilization and lived in peace and harmony for more than 200 years. The deadly Paratwa are extinct. But people are being butchered in ways that terrify the local authorities. Only one kind of creature could cause this mayhem, and as the body count grows, the name Paratwa is whispered once again. Reissue.

Editorial Reviews

Pixel Planet
This is one of the most impressive books I’ve read in a long time. The writing is gripping, the characters are interesting, and there are enough twists and turns to keep you guessing throughout the novel. The events of the story are well thought out, the background is fascinating, and there’s never a dull moment. I cannot recommend this book enough. Buy it, read it, and be amazed.

    Fantastic

I first read this book in the 90 's and spent the last two months trying to recall the title or author. I finally succeeded. It's as good or better than I remembered. One of the best sci fi books I've ever read and I promptly bought the rest of this trilogy.

Book One of the BEST sci-fi series ever!!!

This is by far one of the greatest books I have ever read. The author pulls you into the story so well you don't realize how long you've been reading. The idea alone of the binary linked Paratwa is amazing and the way the author brings it together is astonishing! I agree with the other reviewer, someone has to make this into a movie, whether its with actual actors or animated! I would also like to see some books that would have taken place before this one, while the humans lived on earth and fought the paratwa on a regular basis.

    Matrix Lover's Dream...

Wow, I first read this book about 6 years or more ago... I was blown away. The action sequences are described so vividly, I could 'see' them taking place. Jump to the year 1999 and a movie we all know, called the Matrix is released. This is a great action movie!! As I am sitting in the theater enjoying the action the first thing that comes to my mind is 'The Liege-Killer'... the technology used to make the Matrix would be great in making the Liege-Killer into a full length feature..... This is a great book with lots of strange characters and situations, mysteries and madness... Any movie producers out there should snatch this one up!!!!!!! YOU WILL BE RICH!!!!!
