Overview

2010 Reprint of 1924 Edition. In 1924 Spalding published this first and most important volume of Life and Teaching of the Masters of the Far East. It describes the travels to India and Tibet of a research party of eleven scientists in 1894. During their trip they claim to have made contact with "the Great Masters of the Himalayas", immortal beings with whom they lived and studied, gaining a fascinating insight into their lives and spiritual message. This close contact enabled them to witness many of the spiritual principles evinced by these Great Masters translated into their everyday lives, which could be described as 'miracles'. Such examples are walking on water, or manifesting bread to feed the hungry party.
These books have remained consistently popular with spiritual seekers, those interested in the philosophy of the East and those who enjoy a good story because of their accessible nature and easy-to-follow format. However, despite most of the action taking place in India, the Great Masters make it clear that the greatest embodiment of the Enlightened state is that of the Christ (as personified by Jesus): "The Masters accept that Buddha represents the Way to Enlightenment, but they clearly set forth that Christ IS Enlightenment, or a state of consciousness for which we are all seeking - the Christ light of every individual; therefore, the light of every child born into the world."

    A reviewer

Reading these two books, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, I was awed at the way it explains so many things that are written in the bible and were never explained, i.e. Elijah's flight into heaven, body and soul, the appearance on the Mt. of Transfiguration, etc. This book is easy to understand and will leave you with more wisdom and understanding and will enable you to have a better prayer life.

    Energy Medicine - Ph.D.'s Perspective

Volume 2 continues with the team of scientists beginning their second year with the Masters. This volume centers around Jesus and His visits with the group and His subsequent teachings. Included are his teachings on the nature of God, the nature of hell, the nature of thought vibrations. He addresses the question of hell and the devil by saying, ¿Hell or the Devil has no abiding place except in man¿s mortal thought. Both of them are just wherever man places them¿¿ He continues to clear up many misunderstandings of modern Christianity shedding beautiful light on his life, teachings and purpose. His appearance to the group with Buddha goes far beyond the words they shared with the group in clearing up many of the misinformation about some sort of competition between the Masters of Light.

Live in The LIGHT and you will have eternal life. The LIGHT never dies.

These books have brought clairvoyance and a new spiritual awakening. The Gospel of John is much more clearer now when I read it, along with The books of James, Peter, and Jude of the Bible. Inner peace is invaluable and these books have brought my husband and I that kind of peace. I can read these books over and over and I discover a new enlightment each time I read them. Find the Truth and The Truth Shall Set You Free!

Amazing, Authentic, and absolutley soul food

I am half way through the book and from the very beginning I was glad I bought it. I got it at a bargain price but I would have paid a lot more if I knew it was this good. It helps to give you confidence and guidance by reading the miraculous true happenings that unfold on Mr. Spalding's journey. Sometimes it just feels surreal. The more you come to the realization that what happened in the book is true and real the closer you come to accepting it as TRUTH. I have gotten a greater faith, knowledge, wisdom, and it has spured me on in this pursuit for unity with that which is god. P.S. I'm getting the other volumes ASAP
