Edersheim divides his work into five sections, or books:

The book is a tough read and works better as a resource instead of as a literary piece to be read through. It does very well explaining the Jewish history and culture present at the time of Jesus' ministry, often shedding insights into phraseology or presenting explanations of the more difficult passages of Scripture.
