Purpose: The book is intended to educate students on current knowledge, help them evaluate emerging knowledge, and prepare them to discover new knowledge for the public, their clients, and themselves as they work together throughout the life cycle. Audience: It is intended for graduate nutrition students as well as nutrition healthcare providers, but it would benefit undergraduate students as well. Both authors are registered dietitians who hold PhDs in nutrition. Features: With its wide-ranging coverage, the book discusses topics such as special nutrition considerations of infants, toddlers, children, adolescents, as well as prevention of chronic diseases and nutrition therapy for chronic diseases. Each chapter includes a special section the authors use to provide a very detailed overview of a particular topic from that chapter. Assessment: I would highly recommend this book to undergraduate students interested in nutrition as well as students already enrolled in nutrition programs. The information would be beneficial for nutrition students as well as practicing dietitians.
