Overview

For over forty years, Rebbetzin Esther Jungreis has been a globetrotting spokeswoman for Judaism. Whether counseling a searching soul or addressing a packed house in Madison Square Garden, her message is elegantly universal, while simultaneously addressing the specific needs of contemporary Jews. In LIFE IS A TEST, the Rebbetzin's uncompromising convictions, her insights on faith, her soul-stirring wisdom, and her palpable love of all people saturate every word.

LIFE IS A TEST is really three audiobooks in one, each bearing a particular focus to help listeners find the hidden significance in challenging circumstances. The audiobook begins with tests of self-discovery and then examines the challenging realm of interpersonal relationships, concluding with a section on perceiving Divine Design in the big picture of global events, as well as in one's own world. Regardless of age or experience, people of all persuasions will find meaningful substance in LIFE IS A TEST. Rebbetzin Jungreis has captured many of our deep-seated questions, and has graciously provided us with a decipherable answer key.

Meet the Author

Rebbetzin Esther Jungreis came to the United States after surviving the Nazi's Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. To counter the spiritual holocaust among Jews around the world, the Rebbetzin founded Hineni, a pioneering outreach organization that reconnects Jews to their rich and dynamic Jewish heritage.

The Rebbetzin writes a weekly column for The Jewish Press, the world's more widely circulated Anglo-Jewish newspaper. Her weekly Hineni program is the longest running Jewish broadcast in America. Thousands have attended the Rebbetzin's twice-weekly Torah classes in Manhattan. These challenging lectures have been the catalyst for over 1,000 marriage matches.

LIFE IS A TEST is Rebbetzin Jungreis' fourth book. She previously authored three best-sellers: Jewish Soul on Fire, The Committed Life, and The Committed Marriage. Translated into Spanish, Russian, Hungarian, and Hebrew, her books have transformed hearts, from soldiers in the field to business leaders and heads of state.

Life Is a Test: How to Meet Life's Challenges Successfully

This book is a gem. I couldn't put it down. It shows how important it is to learn who you really are (not your job, not your wealth, not your looks) amd then finding your true purpose in life. An easy read--you don't realize how much you are imbibing. I'm already working on myself to become 'smart as a rooster'! You should try it too.

Her Best Work Yet - Literally Life Changing

I was stunned by the impact of this book. It spoke to very deep and embedded parts of my thinking. I can honestly say I've had a serious 'paradigm shift' from reading it. It's an easy read and at the end of the book I found my thinking had shifted from 'HOW can I get out of my difficulties?' to 'WHAT can I get out of my difficulties?' This point of growth alone was worth the price of the book and the short time to read it.

    Rebbetin Jungreis' Best Work Yet

I was mesmerized by this book. It's not just what the Rebbetzin has to say. It's HOW she expresses it. I have her other two books on The Committed Life and The Committed Marriage. While they are both very good, this Life Is A Test is in a different league. When I finished reading it, I felt like I had a whole new perspective on why things are difficult and what benefit there is when things are tough. Instead of saying HOW do I get out of this unpleasant situation, I'm saying WHAT can I get out of this unpleasant situation. This book is chiropractic for the attitude - whether Jewish or not. Enjoy. I just wish it had been a little longer, actually.

    UNDERSTANDING G-D'S MESSAGE, A SUPERB TREATISE !!!

LIFE IS A TEST - How To Meet Life's Challenges Successfully BY: REBBETZIN ESTHER JUNGREIS BOOK REVIEW BY: FERN SIDMAN Prozac, Zoloft, Wellbutrin, move over. Your days are numbered. The pharmaceutical industry will lose billions in revenue after readers get their hands on this book. Simply put, Rebbetzin Esther Jungreis' new book, 'Life Is a Test - How To Meet Life's Challenges Successfully,' (Mesorah Publications) is the spiritual equivalent to the myriad of anti-depressants on the market. There is no question that Rebbetzin Jungreis has her finger on the pulse of the people. I would surmise that from her vast experience counseling those facing a multitude of challenges that life presents, she decided to write this book as an answer to a collective cry for help from a lost generation, totally unequipped to understand the true meaning behind life's trials and tests. Fear not reader, for it is Rebbetzin Jungreis to the rescue. Your soul is about to get the ultimate work out, so get ready to stretch your spiritual muscles and become reinvigorated as you read 'Life Is A Test'. This is Rebbetzin Jungreis' fourth book and its magnitude of depth, focus and analysis of our personal and communal struggles sets it apart from any other treatises on this subject. It is written as a trilogy, combining three books in one and takes the reader on a trajectory that is permeated with such a genuine sense of warmth and love that can only be termed palpable. In a society immersed in grotesque materialism, decadence and loss of any real and meaningful direction and purpose, we are clueless about what life is really about and more importantly, who we really are and what our potential could be. Rebbetzin Jungreis is the consummate storyteller and it is through this treasure trove of true stories do we begin to understand that our identity is not inextricably tied to our careers or professions or the external superficialities that our culture imposes upon us.
