Dorm life. Thumbs way up on moving away from home, but down, down, down on the Geek Dorm where I’ll spend the next four years. It’s going to take forever to hipify all those science and techno geeks.
Dru’s wedding. She may be one of my best friends, but if she thinks I’m going to wear a pink and yellow plaid bridesmaid’s dress, she’s completely wacked out of her gourd.
Romantic graduation present cruise…without the nummiest boyfriend on the face of the earth? One word: Waaaaaaaaah!

    Teen Angst at It's Funniest

Originally Posted at: www.aurorareviews.blogspot.com ***** Teen angst at it's funniest. Yes, that's a great way to describe Life, Love, and the Pursuit of Hotties.

I have to admit, the title alone drew me to this book. Who doesn't want to pursue hotties? From page one, I laughed, cried, and laughed some more. There are hilarious bits of confusion and heart wrenching scenes that reminded me why high school is only four years long.

Emily is the ultimate drama queen, like most any teenage girl. When things don't go quite as planned, she freaks, but still manages to bumble through. Though there were times when she wasn't my favorite character, I couldn't help but root for her. I loved how she grew through the story. There were touching moments, both with her father and with her boyfriend, Fang-what a great name-that redeemed her for me. Although she could be a tad more mature, she's a girl in a situation where growing up (as in maturity) isn't her first priority.

The connection to pop culture and the email entries in this story make it relevant to the teen generation. The dialogue bubbles and pops, keeping the reader not only entertained, but sailing through the story. Within a short time I had this book finished, but wasn't ready to let Emily go.

If you want a story that's a combination of funny and sweet, then you need to read Life, Love, and the Pursuit of Hotties. I give it 4 suns.

    Hilarious and Witty

I loved this book. Emily is absolutely outrageous. She is so funny. I laughed until I cried... literally I stayed up until 2:00 in the morning just to finish it.

    Not The Best

I love the Emily series and when I first picked up this book, remembering that she and Fang were finally together I was excited to start reading it. But I'd been most disappointed when I finally did. The plot [her cruise with a boyfriend she can't even kiss] was the worst ever and the book really didn't have a point. Emily spent most of the book having internet conversations about the wedding with Dru, talking to Holly, hardly planning for college, and being with Fang on a cruise with senior citizens. I was extremely disappointed with this book and if there is a next one [which by the ending of this one there probably will be], I hope it will be much better than this.

    Zany fun.

**** Emily's European odyssey is over, but her adventures have really only just begun. Since her return home, she's had to cope with her best friend, Dru's, upcoming wedding to Felix, handling via email her other best friend's depression, a long distance love affair (sort of, only without carnality), with Fang, finding she has another spook, winning a cruise from a time share, and dealt with her dad's mid- life depression. Through it all, Emily may not keep smiling, but she does keep her fans smiling, no giggling. Science has proven that happiness and laughter are on a par with vitamin pills for health enhancement, and are much easier to swallow. So, my advice for your continued well being is to stay current with Emily's latest adventures. They are so zany, they might really have happened. ****

    Full of laughs and romance

Oh my gosh! My sides are still hurting from the laughter. Emily comes back for another hilarious story. Other than not being able to kiss her boyfriend, having a wedding obsessed best friend, and a depressed one, life's going great for our girl. You will defenitely NOT be dissapointed with this novel! It's full of laughs and you will enjoy the loveable characters.
