Compiled and written by a contemporary of Daniel Boone, and shelved for 150 years, this work chronicles his life in detail, along with depictions of Long Hunter exploits, Indian-Anglo relations, border wars, Kentuckiana, and trans-Allegheny life. It begins with the early Spanish explorations of North America and ends with the court martial of Boone and his return to the Yadkin. The editor supplies an introduction and notes. This is the most exhaustive and accurate account of the historical Daniel Boone ever to appear. I am so happy that Ted Franklin Belue has helped to set the record straight! What a tremendous endeavor this must have been for him, but we are thankful for it! As a descendant of Israel Boone (Daniel's brother), I want to heartily recommend this giant work to anyone who is interested in the history, rather than the hype of the great Daniel Boone.
