I laughed, I cried, I laughed some more......Gilda told her story as only she could, once I started I could not stop reading.

I have known this entertainer and now writer, for many years. I've always admired her ability to bounce back from any hurdle placed in her path. I used to tell her all the time, after hearing one of her tales, that she should write a book and now she has! I am going to wait until the book version that I can hold in my hand and read over and over, comes out. This book is going to be so great! I will finally learn of all of the difficulties that she had placed in her path and how she survived them all. I am so proud of her!

I felt like Gilda was sitting on the couch telling me her story.

I have know this author since she first started entertaining.  Many autobiographies leave out the bad things and only incorporate the good.  Gilda puts her full honesty out there for all to see what a female impersonator went through in the past.  It is not all the glamour that yoiu see on stage.  I think Gilda is a very courageous person to tell her story as it happened.  I laughed with her, I cried with her and got enraged with her. This book is a must read or all people, gay or straight.  I applaud you Gilda, for sharing your real life with us and am looking forward to the next one.

Gilda Golden's book is a dynamic story of life ... 'the real deal' ... and a story of courage and love. Her story comes alive on every page and draws you into her world of joy and pain, laughter and tears....having and losing the ones we love.  Be with Gilda in the Nightlife of the Discos and Show Bars. Meet the Beautiful  People , both  on and off stage. Go behind the scenes of the Glamorous Life, beneath the colored lights of a time gone by, never to return again. I love this book. Alicia Bridges

Left me waiting for the next edition. Her story of being independant at such a young age, making the same mistakes people do, but still going onto achieve her life goal. Her lost of friendships and the making of lifelong ones. Truly a story about my generation
