About the Author

Shari Pierce was born and raised in Yonkers, New York and was a special education teacher for the Yonkers Public Schools for thirty-three years. She received her B.S. in Special Education from New York University and an M.A. in Learning Disabilities from Teachers College, Columbia University. Shari was named a Leader in Education by the JCY - Westchester Community Partners in 2012. She currently lives in Rockland County with her husband, Ron, and their enormous puppy, Charlie!
