Evans (Seven Secrets of Successful Families) believes that any couple, regardless of their baggage, can rebuild a broken and strained marriage into one that is stronger and more passionate than it was during the honeymoon. He comes from a Christian perspective and advocates first surrendering oneself and the marriage to God, then committing oneself to honesty and loving communication, and going beyond what's expected. Evans details his advice in each chapter with case studies, verbatims, and exercises. A four-week discussion plan for groups concludes the book. Evans provides reputable advice for Christians who can follow the ideals of biblical covenantal love. As usual with marriage improvement books, it's not necessary, but a definite plus, if both partners read the book. Highly recommended for small study groups.

    Lifelong Love Affair is easy to read. Jimmy Evans deals with the steps to have a deep fulfilling marriage. He deals with what a man and woman both need, and how to be fearless in your marriage and know God's vision for your relationship.

    I loved the chapter on covenant love. Covenant love is a binding commitment of sacrifice and commitment. Marriages that last are covenant based like God’s relationship to us! Lifelong Love Affair is a refreshing book that gives hope for great marriages. This is a book all couples should read!

    Had the change to experience Jimmy's teachings last weekend at his Lifelong Love Affair simulcast. All I can say is WOW!!! His information on marriage is life-changing. I picked up a copy of his book Lifelong Love Affair at the seminar and I have been able to learn so many new things about how to have a better marriage that will last for a lifetime. Love, love, love this book and author!

    Love for a lifetime IS possible!

    Lifelong Love Affair is definitely the overall summary of what it takes to make a great marriage. If you are just getting married or have been married forever, there are great tools and reminders to keep the fire burning. I love the honesty that is presented about what real love is and the fact that everyone CAN have this kind of love, a dynamic, fearless and covenantal love. Also, there is a study Guide for small groups that is a great bonus to this book. A definite recommended read for all couples!
