Overview

Jamie held a secret deep within herself that was stopping her from loving herself. Nobody knew. Her life was anything but the relaxed calm that she beckoned. She and her sister were informed of their parents being on a plane that was hijacked while they were overseas.
Jamie tried to push the young Lieutenant out of her life as she dealt with her missing parents, the grandmother she barely knew, and the ex-boyfriend that thought he was doing her a favor by wanting her back. Lieutenant Gary Cooper continued to stand by her side as she fought what life threw at her and her own emotions.
After spending a weekend with Gary at her parents' mountain cabin, she witnessed the tragedy of his plane exploding while on the beach with her sister. She froze her heart after he pushed her away. Would he be able to chip the ice away and hand her his life's gift?

Meet the Author

I was born the middle child of six children. I was the only daughter of struggling middle-class parents in Greensboro, NC. I graduated from high school with no clue as to what I wanted to do with life. College was out of the question due to finances. I dove into working two jobs because I wanted to be on my own. When I wasn’t working, I was reading. A true addict to books; I would read five to six books at a time. It wouldn't be until later that I would discover my hunger to write. That want quickly turned into a need.In 1994, I made my first attempt and was quickly told that I wrote like too many other authors. I placed the story in a file and put it away. I thought for good. In the past year, I found that the thirst to write was not buried. I had just placed it on hold until my children had matured enough to entertain themselves. I had again read every book I had, so I took out my first story and rewrote it. Now I have started on my thirteenth novel with hopes of many more to come.Titles include: Finding Gracie's Rainbow, Finding Annie's Dream, Finding Sammie's Fandsy, Life's Gfit, Lost and Found, The Game, Deception, Rainbow of Roses, and The Key to her Heart.

    Very frustrating...but nice story

This book was very frustrating to read because of the grammar and editing issues. I got confused as the story would jump from third person to first narrative, sometimes in the same sentence...it drove me crazy!! The story was good but i don't think the author executed the plot or the characters relationships very well.

Jeez really again. How many bad things cokuld happen

For a free book it was okay. But my goodness howmany times can on person be victimized? The main character is whiney and the boy frriend isnt much better. The only character that i liked was grammy. I didnt bother to fix any of my typo or grammer errors because i figured it fits i with all the ones the editor missed in the book

    Terrible

The story starts out with the parents plane being hijjacked while the oldest sister is home from college watching her two siblings, The childrens response to their parents being on a hijcked plane in the middle east was less than believable - they seemed more concerned about school, the youngesrt sisters HS Graduation and the eldest sisters bad breakup with a boyfriens than the fact their parents were being held by terrorists, the parents do make it home but the day the parents "surprise" the kids with an early homecoming the eldest sister is kidnapped and raped by the ex-boyfriend, the families reaction is so unbelievable in that they are immefiately trying to push the kidnap and rape victem into the arms of the navy pilot whose parents live across the street, I finally quit reading halfway through this book because of the way the family and the pilot were acting towards this poor girl, obviously this author did not research rape victems and how they should be treated before writing this sad excuse of a book.

    Editor needed

The lead drove me crazy with her mood swings. Though the Lt. was almost has bad. If it hadn't been for the writing errors and the fact that you had this decipher the sentence you were reading, or if it stayed on track with facts stated earlier in the book, I would have given 5 stars.
