About the Author

Connie l. Auran, M.A., R.D., earned degrees in Nutrition and Dietetics Education. As a trained and experienced nutrition specialist, Connie worked as Director of Nutrition for the Tri-County Health Department in Colorado. She taught at various state universities and community colleges, and continued educating the public and health providers as a keynote speaker at national health and nutrition council meetings. Connie is a published author in the fields of nutrition and multiple sclerosis.

In 1995, Connie lost her husband of forty-two years, and found herself living alone for the first time in her life. Since that time, she has been a source of help and inspiration to many of her widowed friends, informally sharing her "how-to-survive" tips. Over the years, it became evident to Connie that the grief-stricken need immediate help and advice in condensed form to know what to do today and who to call. Connie wrote this booklet with a loving and empathetic concern for those bereaved in mind, in a short and easy-to-read format.
