This is a wonderful, witty, beautiful story. No lover of literature should miss this. Illustratious by Sendak are characteristically exquisite and rich. Read it to your children, read it to your partner, read it by yourself!

Loved it.  Feels a bit like sleeping beauty in that a princess is placed under a curse.  This time it isn't a kiss, but unconditional love that rescues here.  And by the way, the Light is not luminance but weight.  There is a lovely play throughout on gravity and lightness .

This faity tale is different than any other one i have ever read. Parts were somewhat predictible but most of the time the author keeps you guessing. It is only 36 pages but is worth it.

George MacDonald is a master of the Fairy tale genre. He tells the story of the Light Princess in a way that is intelligent, engaging, and full of archetypal understanding.

It is a wonderful read for adult and child alike. Better yet, read it with a child and enjoy the depths of a great writer's imagination and insights together.

I love fairy tales but I can tell the good one from the bad ones The bad ones are the ones where you know exactly how it will end after the first page. This is different lets just say a little water may be a good thing some times. that's a hint to the end

This is a new classic. At least, to me it is. For once the girl doen't immediately fall head over herels for the boy at first sight.
