WADE DALTON WAS HAVING A VERY BAD DAY

His five-year-old had accidentally set the kitchen on fire. His daughter was surly, as usual. The baby hadn't been fed yet. And his mother—aka "The Childminder"—had eloped…with a scam artist. Could it get any worse?

Turned out it could. Because the annoyingly beautiful daughter of said scam artist was now at the door, batting her doe eyes at him and proposing that she be his temporary nanny while awaiting the newlyweds' return. Could he trust her to be under his roof? Could he trust himself with her under his roof?

This is only my second review of a story by Rayanne Thayne. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I actually enjoyed it. Wade Dalton has a lot of stuff going on in his life. He has a ranch to run, a tv crew on the way, three kids to raise that he knows very little about and a mom that has just eloped with a gentleman friend of hers that no one seem to know very much about. Oh and let's not forget, the daughter of said gentleman friend who has just arrived on his doorstep trying to find the whereabouts her dad. Enter Caroline Montgomery, a "life" coach who has inadvertently coached Wade's mom into getting more out of life, not realizing how it was going to affect her own life! Wade is in way over his head. He has no idea to take care of his own children because he has given up all control of that function to his mom. He is in so much trouble here until Caroline shows up on his doorstep. Wade is so angry right now he doesn't know what to do, except take Caroline up on her offer and let her help out a few days until dear ol' dad returns. What follows is some very interesting moments between Wade and Ann and how they both deal with the children. I found the story believable but the behavior of the children predictable. What I didn't expect is what happened to Caroline. Although I knew there would have to be something that would make her stay, I was not prepared to see the actual events unfold before my eyes. This was a nice surprise for me and captivated my attention enough to continue reading

Out of 28 reviews, only 3 were actual reviews. The rest were fun and games from a bunch of idiots. This is an excellent chick lit book. I don't usually enjoy chick lit all that much, but I needed something light and fluffy after reading a murder mystery filled with so many horrific details, it will be a cold day down south, wwaaayyyy down south, before I ever read that author again. This was the perfect book to help realign my pycshe with. About 300 pages of fun, with a couple of surprizing twists, which was nice in what I thought would be a 100% predictable chick lit book. The kids were a bit of disappointment, their behavior was just what I expected. It would be nice to have the author some Mark Twain type of kids in her next book. Real kids are not predictable. Well edited and well worth reading, although a bit expensive for a nook book. About 300 pages. Some sex, pathos, and laughter. Just what I needed to put the smile back on my face and the shivers off my spine. I am now going to buy a second one by this author, perhaps it will calm the midnight creepies I can feel staring out from under my bed. For readers 15 and up. Chick lit. AD

I loved this book. The characters were great. I am a RaeAnne Thayne fan and was not disappointed.....except for one thing. This book was way too short and the ending too abrupt.
