More Than Words: Bestselling authors&Real-life heroines

Each year, the Harlequin More Than Words award is given to three women who have worked hard to change people's lives for the better. Inspired by their accomplishments, three bestselling authors have written stories to honor these real-life heroines.

In Light This Candle, Major Mitch McConnell has arrived home after serving overseas for nearly two years. Now he can finally give his condolences to Cassidy Frazier, whose husband died under his command. But when he tracks down the single mother, he finds out that Cassidy is about to be evicted and her son, Cody, is in the hospital.

At first, Cassidy tells Mitch she doesn't want his help. The military wasn't there for her when it mattered most, so she certainly doesn't need them now. But Mitch is more than a soldier: he's a caring, gentle man who's determined to ease Cassidy's burdens. And if she lets him into her family, perhaps she can give Mitch something worth fighting for...

I will say it's your typical love story in the respect that you just know how it's going to end but you can't help but read it to find out!!! Great story!

I really loved this short story (77pages) of a mother' s love for her child an then the romance. I cried alot but smiled too. Thank goodness for foundations like Patches of Light and Ronald McDonalds in Memphis, TN. Read it you will love it too even if everything not correct about ECUs. GJRA

This was a wonderful book. I liked it very much. It was a very moving book. The emotional trama for parents that have sick children must be unreal. My heart goes out to those parents. Good job with this book. J.... :)

I loved this story. How Mitch came into her life in a time of need, like an angel. He made Cassie and Cody so happy. And now they will stay together as a family. I highly recommend this book.

This book brought back lots of memories of my own experiences with my grandbaby in the hospital. We had to stay and watch over her with her chest open watching and praying her little heart would keep pumping for the machines. Liked the way the author told her story and how it made you feel. Well done and best regards to you. Thanks.
