Lighting the Lampby David Finz
Against the grain - it's how Douglas Maggia had always lived. It was the way he played hockey, leading his college team from the bottom of the standings to a conference championship. The way he shook up his traditional family by marrying out of his race. And the way he spurned a career on Wall Street in order to spend more time with his wife and daughter.
Now at age forty, Doug is in the face-off of his life. His marriage is on thin ice, his friends have all skated past him on the road to success, and his days of athletic glory are as faded as his old varsity jersey. So when someone comes along who says she can make him feel young again, Doug has a choice to make - is this his last shot on goal, or a power play that will destroy his team? LIGHTING THE LAMP is the story of a man searching for someone to believe in him, who discovers that what he needs most is to believe in Him!

This is an inspiring book that everyone can relate to. Well developed characters who could be your next-door neighbors. The story line keeps you turning the page, and when it was over, I wanted more. Very refreshing to read a book which takes me away for awhile, and at the same time, brings me further in my faith journey. Keep them coming!
I do not usually write reviews but i just had to tell you how much i enjoyed this book. I did not want to put it down and it was worth it. Many people could relate to the story and characters and in this day reading something that makes you think about your life and and what's important is refreshing. Excellent writing .
