Lil' Band O' Gold

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Bob Gottlieb
This extremely eclectic group of nine Louisiana musicians are all veterans of numerous groups from many different genres of music that have one thing in common. The music was all spawned and nurtured in southern Louisiana. This band is headed by Warren Storm, the 63-year-old veteran singer and drummer who charted his first song in 1958. The youngest member of this versatile aggregation is C.C. Adcock, guitar player. The music is loosely categorized as swamp pop, however, it is a wonderful combination of Cajun, Creole, rock, swamp, and blues. The members also spend time with these bands: Cocodrie, File, Sonny Landreth, John Hiatt, Steve Riley, and the Mamou Playboys to name...

The members also spend time with these bands: Cocodrie, File, Sonny Landreth, John Hiatt, Steve Riley, and the Mamou Playboys to name just a few of the other groups. What they have created here is a band that is led by Storm's vocals, and supported in all ways by the expertise of the individual members on their instruments of choice. The wall of sound they create dwarfs the individual pieces of the group. The notes don't say who plays what, but while the notes may leave something to be desired, the music certainly doesn't.
