    Lily Pons, Coloratura Soprano

I adore Lily Pons voice. Very pure, light, high and enjoyable. She is a pure coloratura soprano, with an voice extention to Bb-flat above high C. What I disliked, is the surface noise. It could be eliminated, but maybe it's because her voice would shrill out a stereo system. Even though I adore her voice, she had an ugly legato line; all over the place. Maybe it's because of the early days of recording. This CD is worth the while listening to if you like the coloratura voice, and arias that are well above soprano high C.
