About the Author

Satoshi Kitamura nació en Tokio en 1956. Es escritor y dibujante. Ha publicado numerosos libros para niños, la mayoría de los cuales se han traducido a diferentes idiomas. En 1983 Kitamura ganó el premio Mother Goose, otorgado anualmente a la revelación en ilustración, por el libro Fernando Furioso. Con el mismo libro también obtuvo el Premio de Libro Ilustrado en Japón. En 2000 se hizo merecedor al prestigiado premio Smarties por su obra ¿Mi gato y yo?

Satoshi Kitamura is a writer and cartoonist. He has published numerous children's books, most of which have been translated into different languages. In 1983 Kitamura won the Mother Goose prize, awarded annually to the revelation in illustration, for the book Fernando Furioso. With the same book he also won the Japan Illustrated Book Award. Again in 2000, he won the prestigious Smarties Award for his work My Cat and Me.
