This is my first book by this author and to say that I enjoyed it is an understatement. I felt like I was there and even though I knew how each story was going to end I still enjoyed the stories. Please read you will not be disappointed.

I love the way Francine Rivers writes and in this compilation of her books on the women of the Bible...she has out done herself.
I purchased this book at the beginning of the summer and luxuriously read through the stories and worked through the bible study that followed. I was surprised by what I learned and discovered about myself through these stories as I thought I would be the women...but in many cases, I found I was the male character...not the woman. I was definitely Jacob and not Tamar in the first book...It was an awakening!
In each novella, you will discover the wisdom and strength of those who came before us...stories of hope, faith, love, unlimited grace and obedience. You will not be disappointed!
A great book for Christian Women Book Clubs, Bible Study or just sharing amongst friends. I thoroughly enjoyed every word!!!

This is the story of the lives of several Old Testament women. Although a fictionalized account it adds to the stories because you get a better idea of what life was like for those people. Through that perspective, you get a better understanding of their stories and why they are so important to the Old Testament. Thought provoking at times.
This would be an interesting book for a Bible study.

Francine Rivers is an excellent writer that has done her homework on the backdrop for her stories. These stories are both gripping and uplifting. You feel like you are walking through biblical times and are actually a part of the story. Thanks for the wonderful book!!

I was impressed by the research that went into the writing of this book to dig out the cultural aspects which influenced people's lives in OT times. This brought to life the stories of the Bible that I've read so many times before. It helped me to understand the challenges/limitations of the choices women in their societies and appreciate the grace of God evident in their lives.

This book is so worth reading, it really explains alot about the lives of the women in Bible. I could not put it down. I was also doing a study on the Bible at the same time and it really gave me a better understanding of what was going on during the different time periods.
Great Read!
