The BEST Read in a long time...

I love the way Francine Rivers writes and in this compilation of her books on the women of the Bible...she has out done herself.

I purchased this book at the beginning of the summer and luxuriously read through the stories and worked through the bible study that followed. I was surprised by what I learned and discovered about myself through these stories as I thought I would be the women...but in many cases, I found I was the male character...not the woman. I was definitely Jacob and not Tamar in the first book...It was an awakening!

In each novella, you will discover the wisdom and strength of those who came before us...stories of hope, faith, love, unlimited grace and obedience. You will not be disappointed!

A great book for Christian Women Book Clubs, Bible Study or just sharing amongst friends. I thoroughly enjoyed every word!!!

I love this author and this book in perticular is outstanding. I can't wait to open it up.

Highly Recommended

This is my first book by this author and to say that I enjoyed it is an understatement. I felt like I was there and even though I knew how each story was going to end I still enjoyed the stories. Please read you will not be disappointed.

Loved it!

I was brought up hearing bible stories, but they never seemed to apply to me. After reading "a Lineage of Grace" I was moved to begin reading my bible. As I come along the stories I read in the bible that were highlighted in the book, their stories seem alive to me. I feel like I know them, I know their history. I have a deeper understanding of God's grace and a renewed realtionship with GOD. I have been blessed by Francine Rivers.

Absolutely Wonderful!

She writes these books with great respect to biblical truths and makes them quite historically accurate. These stories are filled with excitement and opportunities for God to open your eyes to His wisdom and love. In case you haven't noticed.. i totally recommend this and all other books by Francine Rivers. She is a talented author!

A MUST READ!!!

FINALLY a book that takes ages old Bible stories and brings them to life in such a way the reader is actually transported back in time and lives each moment with the women of the stories in this marvelous book!! Ms. Rivers' selection of women is superb in that she carefully adds dialogue to help fill in the story lines, but most importantly, she does so in such a way that can be validated throughout scriptures and she backs up each story with a Bible study, should the reader so choose to complete them. This was my first Francine Rivers book, and since completing it only weeks ago, I have already gone on to read yet another of her works. Great book, and in my humble opinion, a MUST READ!

This book is perfect for any woman who wants to be reminded of the powerful way God uses women for His purposes. I plan to buy several and give them to friends as gifts. Francine Rivers is a passionate writer and always faithful to the Bible. I love her style!

An enjoyable read

This is the story of the lives of several Old Testament women. Although a fictionalized account it adds to the stories because you get a better idea of what life was like for those people. Through that perspective, you get a better understanding of their stories and why they are so important to the Old Testament. Thought provoking at times.
This would be an interesting book for a Bible study.

These books paint the stories of amazing women who were used by God to do amazing things. These books were so good I could hardly put them down. The stories pull the reader into them and are very well written.

Francine Rivers is one of my favorite authors. These stories are are terrific. You gain a whole new appreciation for the bible stories and a better understanding of what the people in them might have been thinking and feeling. Loved it, loved it, loved it!
