LTC Peters wrote about the state of the US government and its military, military tactics and government pholosopy. I must say that his works in the first two chapters written in the mid 90's are highly prescient! I read them and couldn't help but reflect on the state of affairs in the government and its handling of conflicts today. I haven't finished the book, but I am sure that he continues this pattern of well researched information, knowledge gained from first-hand experience and probably a goodly dose of intuitive thinking. It is heavy, but when taking the time to read and reflect on today, you will see that there is so much real meat here that you'll want to buy a copy for your government representatives and send one on to the White House and Sec Def!Was this review helpful? Peters chose 35 of his articles from over 1,000 he's written (1994-2011) in journals, magazines and newspapers to present those "worth reading thirty years from now." He's succeeded marvelously! This compilation is truly the 'best of the best' of Peters' writing on strategy and security. All will stand the test of time. Peters is today's most insightful strategist and these articles definitely show why that's true. Ralph Peters is a national treaure. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
