Original title: Lissa's Groom. Approximately 100,000 words (319 print pages). Sensual content.

After suffering amnesia, Jack Emerson, wakes in a small Montana town with no idea who he is or what his life was like. His only clue to his true identity is the beautiful woman at his side. A woman he apparently traveled to Montana to marry and care for. Although he doesn't remember his promise, Jack is a man of his word. Knowing Lissa is in danger of losing her ranch, he wastes no time, marrying her as soon as he is able and working to help her raise her son and protect her property.

When Lissa finds the handsome stranger on the  road to her house, she knows he must be the man who is coming to marry her. Recently widowed, marriage is the only way to guarantee that her ranch and her son will be safe from the rustlers who have been stealing cattle and threatening her livelihood. She wants a marriage of convenience, but swears that she will never give her heart away again. But as Jack works to protect her home and her son, Lissa finds it harder to keep that promise even as she finds herself wondering who Jack Emerson really is.  With her heart and her future on the line, Lissa has to wonder if she's married the wrong man.

    Highly Recommended!

Another winner from Jillian Hart. I've enjoyed the other books of hers I've read and enjoyed this one too. I would recommend this book for readers who like historical romance.

    Historical romance at it's best.

This story touched my heart. Lissa doesn't want to love again but when faced with the perfect man, what choice does she have? A wonderful love story.

    Who is this man?

Lissa's Cowboy by Jillian Hart Marshal Jack Emerson is ready to bring in the criminal he caught. When a mountain lion interrupts his journey, everything changes. He wakes up to find all his memories are gone and he is John Murray, a man who made promises to the woman he was to marry today. He felt he needed to keep those promises. Lissa Banks Murray and his new son, Chad, quickly become his life, as he remembers nothing else. And he has promises to keep. Lissa finds the man along the road near her ranch and assumes it must be her late husbands cousin who was coming to marry her. Only he don't remember anything except that he likes to be called Jack. She has buried everyone she ever loved and won't love again. And yet this new husband of hers is touching her heart. Jack is keeping every promise to her and Chad even though he don't remember making them. Lissa fears that once Jack's memory returns, he may choose his old life. Definitely a book with suspense, drama and plenty of romance. Someone is rustling entire herds of cattle and bankrupting the ranchers. What do the ladies really do when they have their weekly meetings? You will never meet the likes of Pete the bull or Winston the cat. Jillian always is creative with her unique animals. **Mild language and sexual situations within marriage.

Very very good book but it isn't 1300 pages. it is 300 to 400. T

Very very good book but it isn't 1300 pages. it is 300 to 400. The front cover is page one, the next page is page 2, the next page is 10, the next page is 38 so on. Chapter one starts on page 80 and then jumps like three pages at a time so it is no where near 1300 pages. My guess is 300 to 400 by how long it took me to read it. It really bothers me the way nook book puts books together. They don't have any pride in their work it is all about money. They are a greedy bunch.

    Great

I love her books. I rate this one 4.5/5. My favorite still is Homespun Bride, but I like all her historical romances.

    Still a good read!

I found the book to be quite nice. Although in some spots I found it dragging on I still though it was well worth reading! I do believe that the pages are numbered incorrectly. This was more like a 350 page book not 1,800 pages.

    It's a looong story!!!!!

Jillian Hart is a first class B writer. However at over 1800 pages this story just drags on and on and on. The editor fell asleep at the switch on this one. Turtles move faster then this book does.
