In New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristen Proby’s brand new series, five best friends open a hot new restaurant, but one of them gets much more than she bargained for when a sexy former rock star walks through the doors—and into her heart.

Seduction is quickly becoming the hottest new restaurant in Portland, and Addison Wade is proud to claim 1/5 of the credit. She’s determined to make it a success and can’t think of a better way to bring in new customers than live music. But when former rock star Jake Keller swaggers through the doors to apply for the weekend gig, she knows she’s in trouble. Addie instantly recognizes him—his posters were plastered all over her bedroom walls in high school—he’s all bad boy...exactly her type and exactly what she doesn’t need.

Jake Keller walked away from the limelight five years ago and yearns to return to what’s always driven him: the music. If he gets to work for a smart-mouthed, funny-as-hell bombshell, all the better. But talking Addie into giving him the job is far easier than persuading her that he wants more than a romp in her bed. Just when she begins to drop her walls, Jake’s past finally catches up with him.

Will Addie be torn apart once again or will Jake be able to convince her to drown out her doubts and listen to her heart?

Publishers Weekly
After suffering heartbreak in a recent relationship, Addison vows not to get involved with anyone—especially ex-rock star Jake Keller, whom she’s just hired to play in her Portland, Ore., restaurant, aptly named Seduction. But despite the past sorrows that still haunt them, Jake and Addison find it hard to resist a dance of mutual attraction and seduction. Titillating foreplay and steamy sex scenes that reduce powerful businesswomen to avatars of lust are the highlight of this romance. Unfortunately, inconsistency makes it difficult to identify with the characters. Jake oscillates between a respectful guy and an egotistical cad who’s driven purely by his hunger for Addison’s “sexier-than-fuck” body. This lends itself to somewhat superficial dialogue, which causes the narrative flow to ebb and wane. Although the obstacles for Addison and Jake are predictable and resolved with relative ease, there are enough ups and downs to keep the pages turning and a cliffhanger to spark interest in the sequel. Listen To Me is the first book in a new series and she nailed it. The dialog is witty. The friendship are great and reminded me of me and my girlfriends. I liked the fast pace. I've read all of Kristen Proby's books and am never disappointed.

## HOLY MOLY. This book was fan-freaking-tastic. I loved this 1st book of this new series. How the hell does Kristen knock it out of the park every time? No clue, but man I'm glad that she does. I love that she writes her heroines as beautiful, successful, fun-loving women. Nothing worse than a weak, doormat of a woman. And thank you Ms. Proby for letting Addie be gorgeous AND capable. She had tremendous chemistry with the hero, who btw was HOT HOT HOT. While I'm gushing, let me not forget to mention that there is no instant forgiveness! Yay me. So much more satisfying that way. If you haven't read Ms. Proby's other books, you are missing out. I can recommend Come away with me, Fight with me, Falling for Jillian, Easy Kisses, Easy Love, Loving Cara, Play with me...Omg, there are too many, just buy them all.

Jake and Addison may be the best couple I have ever read about... Jake is clearly the Hunk of the Year!! Excellent start to the series and loved Addies girlfriends whose books will surely follow... Addie owns a restaurant called Seduction with her friends and Jake is a semi retired rock star.. Each has baggage which adds to the story but this is a book that is well written and keeps you reading... I loved it and am already on Book Two which is also a winner,...

Charming! I loved the five friends who opened a very successful restaurant/bar. Our Heroine was a real woman with not only beauty but issues, just like our hero. I can't wait to read book two and I already have book 3 on pre-order.

Once again, Kristen Proby has created a setting in which fabulous women - all smart and successful - find themselves with incredibly sexy men who challenge and comfort them in the best possible ways. The witty comments and pillow talk among friends and lovers will keep me hooked on this series, as I have with all Ms. Proby's others.

Jake Keller walked away from the rock and roll world five years ago, and has no intentions of ever going back, that world changed him and was starting to make him a jaded man, so he gave it all up for a chance at a simpler, less public life. But being away from the music is starting to take it's toll on him, he has always looked to the music to soothe him and keep him at peace, and not having it in his life now is reeking havoc on his system, so with a lot of encourage from his best friend, he goes to an open mic night to sing. It ends up being a very therapeutic and eye opening experience for him, just sitting on the stage with his guitar and singing brings him back to a place he's been longing to rediscover for the last five years and now that he has found it again he knows there's no way he can give it up again. So, when he learns that an up and coming restaurant is looking for a singer a few nights a week he jumps at the chance to audition, and thinks it's the perfect way for him to find his way back to the music he has been missing. Walking into that restaurant not only gives him a chance at rediscovering the music he's missed, but is also puts him on a path to finding love... Opening Seduction was a dream come true for Addison Wade and her friends, and they couldn't be happier with the success they have had thus far, but Addison is certain that they can improve on it by adding live music a couple nights a week. The idea of customers being able to listen to music while their dining seems like the perfect thing to lure more folks through their door and put them on the map as one of the best restaurants in the city, which means now they've got to find some talent. Her friends are on board with the idea, but are leaving it all up to her to find a singer, so she attends a open mic night, and gets the shock of her life when the rock god who use to be plastered all over her walls waltzes onto the stage. He seems different now though, like a simpler man, even has a different name...but he is just as gorgeous as he always was, and Addison would love nothing more than to have him in her restaurant, but she is certain they can't afford him, so she keeps looking. She is certain she'll never see him again, so she revels in the fleeting moments they shared and leaves it at that...until he walks through the door of Seduction and asks for a job... Having been a while since my last book by Ms. Proby, I had forgotten just how much I enjoyed reading her stories, but barely paragraph into it and I was quickly reminded of the literary treat her books provide! From the moment Jake waltzed onto the page I found myself instantly smitten with him, and continued to fall hard for him with each sentence I read... you just don't find characters quite like him too often. He was every bit an alpha, but underneath his protective exterior was a man with a gentle spirit, that had a heart of gold, and watching him fall for Addison was truly a beautiful thing to witness! The chemistry between them was undeniable, their relationship was intensely passionate, and filled with lots of steamy action that left me blushing more than a few times! I LOVED every minute of their story, & I can't wait to dive into the next installment and get better acquainted with more of these remarkable characters!! If you haven't acquainted yourself with Ms. Proby's books yet, I higly recommend you remedy that soon, because not only are you missing out on some exceptional stories!

Addison has put up walls where musicians go. She has been burned by too many to count. So when she meets Jake she thinks he is just like the others. But from the f irst time Jake sees her at the open mike he feels "a click" with her that he cannot ignore. He no longer wants that rock star life. Too many bad things came from it. Now he just wants to produce and write and play for people who will listen and sing along with him. Can he get Addison to fall for him and realize he is not like all the other musicians who used her and tossed her aside when they were done with her. I love the way Kristen brought laughter and friendship throughout this story. A truly delightful and touching story.

I will be the first to admit that this book is different from Kristen Proby's other books. How exactly? I can't quite put my finger on it. Though, I think at the end of the day it had a more realistic tinge to it. And the romance between Addison Jake was not necessarily effortless, but again real, and tangible. It resonated more with my on a reader level. Though don't mistake me I am a MASSIVE fan of ALL of her books. This one was just different in the reality sense, I an enjoyed that part quite a bit. This book offers fun, angst, an enticing story and an amazingly sexy relationship between the two main characters. Though they both have their hang ups about relationships and life in general, they're both making changes for the better when they cross paths. And in each other they find everything they didn't know they needed, and don't think they deserve. And while the romance is a the forefront of this story, what add more depth is Proby's signature secondary characters that are sneaky heart-stealers. Honestly the group of girls that work with Addison have cemented themselves in my brain with their little nuances. They each revealed slivers of how their story will go, and each one holds a unique story in front of her that I am dying to delve into. But back to Jake and Addison... they were a joy to read, and I do so hope to visit them again in the future books of this series. If you're looking for a terrific, sinful, funny read please look no further. Ms. Proby has wow-ed once again with her unfailing ability to write what I call a perfect novel and one that I will set on my keeper shelf! *ARC provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review*

3.5 Stars Reviewed by Francesca and posted at Under The Covers Book Blog I loved the premise of this book because it comes elements that I love to read about and I can’t wait to see them all explored more in this series. First off, a restaurant setting. The heroine in this book, Addison, is co-owner of Seduction along with her best friends. I love books set in a restaurant (the foodie in me!) and the bonds of friendship between the women that the author explores so well in this book are an added bonus. With how different each of the women are, I know it’ll make for an interesting and varied series. In LISTEN TO ME, Addison is an ex-model and falls for an ex-rock star who comes to sing at Seduction. I love that both of them have left their crazy careers behind in a sense and are a bit more centered and mature now to be in the right frame of mind for a relationship. The romance between Addison and Jake is sweet and cute throughout this book. But there were some things that I didn’t enjoy as much, or that I think could’ve been stronger. Mainly the backstory for both characters. They both have their own demons that make them feel unworthy of being in a happy relationship, or thinking that they’ll just hurt the other person. But the reason behind why and how they eventually overcome those issues was not as strong as I would’ve liked to see. I do enjoy Kristen Proby’s writing style. She tells this story with ease and makes you feel part of this group. And while she’s weaving this sweet romance between the main characters, she’s also left me really curious for what the next book will bring. Can’t wait to read it.

I have read each and every book that Kristen Proby has written and loved them all and this one is no different! I loved it...it pulled me in in the first few pages...I fell in love with her writing when I read her first book Come Away With Me and have been a fan ever since. In this book I love how determined, independent and strong Addison is and her love of bad boys! I love Jake..he is hot, sexy, strong and so in love with music...the two are attracted to each other immediately and the sparks fly. Once I started this book I could not put it down and read it in one long sitting...she has this knack for drawing readers in so that you can not put a book down! Jake and Addison's relationship of course doesn't have it's bumps...the need to trust, forgive and just give into what they are feeling...I look forward to the next book in this series. If you haven't read any of her books I recommend that you take the leap you will be so glad that you did I know that I am!

What Worked For Me: Warning! Warning! Before you pick up this book make sure you have plenty of drinks and snacks. Order In pizza. Put on a diaper so you don’t have to go to the bathroom…ok that may be taking things a little far but seriously make sure everyone is settled before you start reading Listen to Me because once you start, you absolutely will NOT want to stop. This book is purely, 100% addicting! I loved it. There is not one single thing I can say negative and so many amazing things, there aren’t enough words in the human language to adequately describe how much this book ROCKS! Addison, our heroine, is a strong and independent women who runs a restaurant with her best friends. She got some issues but this woman knows how to keep her head up despite it all. She has a history of picking bad-boy rockers who leave her high and dry so when our hero, legendary rocker Jake Knox comes into her restaurant to provide some live entertainment, she does not make getting to know her easy. Jake is sex on a stick personified. He is so delicious I just want to dip him and chocolate and eat him up. He is flabbergasted and confused about his instant attraction to Addison, but rather than fight it, he decides to go with the flow and see if he can get to know her. The banter between these two is hilarious! They go back and forth and it is pure entertainment. It doesn’t take long before getting to know one another turns to friendship, which in turn becomes something neither one of them ever expected. I loved the slow build-up between them because when they finally come together….WHEW!!! It is mind blowing. He is a gentleman in public but behind closed doors....he is most definitely a bad boy in a very good way. Their chemistry is so hot it will melt your clothes right off your body! But, despite the slow build-up and the raw passion, these two have issues that they must work through in order to get what they both now want more than anything, a future together. Helping these two on their path to happily-ever-after are Addison’s best friends, one crazy cool spa technician, one of Jake’s bandmates, and Jake’s best friend, Christina. All these secondary characters make this book even richer and more decadent. They are fun to get to know and pumped me up even more for the next book in this series. The plot was fresh and fast-paced and kept me entertained from the first word until the very last. There is a little bit of angst to keep you on your toes and enough emotional elements to require a tissue or ten. Trust me when I say that Listen To Me will be one of the best books you will read this entire year. Kristen Proby is an author who knows how to enthrall her readers and her books should come with a warning label….one that reads Highly Addictive! What Didn’t Work For Me: I have no negative issues. The book was perfect from characters, to plot, to editing. Would I Recommend This Book: Yes….to every single reader I know Final Star Rating: 5 stars

I’ve been a HUGE Kristen Proby fan since she first self published COME AWAY WITH ME, this first book in her With Me In Seattle and she has been on my auto buy list for years now. I have read and loved every single book she has published, and LISTEN TO ME is no exception. I’ve loved to see her talent as a writer grow and flourish over the years as well. This is her first series that doesn’t revolve around a blood related family, but you can still feel the strong familial connection between these five female best friends. This story follows Addison and Jake as they get to know and trust each other and eventually fall head over heels in love with each other. Addie has always been attracted to the bad boy musician type. They are her weakness. When the book first opens she is dating Jeremy, a local musician who seems to be going nowhere fast and ends up betraying Addie and breaking her heart. I love the heroines that Kristen writes; they are always strong, intelligent, quick witted, hilarious, and spunky. You can’t help but notice that Kristen has to leave a little piece of herself in each of her amazing heroines. Jake Keller lays eyes on Addie and falls for her immediately. Jake is a former rock star who gave up the limelight after a life changing accident and now runs an extremely successful music production company with his former band mate, where they write and produce for other high profile and well established acts. He seems to be running from his past and his love of performing when he meets Addie and she makes him want to change his mind. Jake is an amazing bossy, stubborn, and super sexy alpha that I’ve come to look for and love in each one of Kristen’s books. They are definitely near the top of my book boyfriend baseball team roster. (Hello sexy Nate McKenna from FIGHT WITH ME!❤ ) Kristen writes with such heart, humor, and heat that you can’t help but want to binge on the rest of her back list after reading this perfect contemporary romance. Whether you are new to Kristen Proby or an old tried and true fan, I have no doubt that you will end up loving this book and eventually this series. I know I can’t wait for the next book in the series, CLOSE TO YOU to be released. Roll on August 9, 2016!
