    A Gem of a Resource

I am preparing for the English Content Praxis and have already taken the Middle School Language Arts Praxis. This is such a valuable resource for reviewing. I earned my English degree over 30 years ago and now I am moving into education. It quickly and concisely reviews all the major works covered in a course in a very easy and concrete way. A must buy for anyone preparing for examinations.

The Values of Using Your Brain

'Sparknotes 101' is a cheap way of avoiding using your own thoughts, ideas, and opinions. I have found it reviews no literary work justly, and was extremely disappointed by both the writers of 'Sparknotes', and downright ashamed of myself for embodying bad judgement as the book was added to my tab at Barnes and Noble.

A must for any college kid looking to pass the Praxis

I think this is a very valuable book depending on your reasons for reading it... if you're looking to 'read' the classics without really reading them, then no, this won't help you out. This isn't meant to be a book that offers in-depth analysis. BUT if you are like me, and just a college kid looking to pass the Praxis II English content exam in which all of your classes can't possibly cover everything you need to know, then this is THE answer. For that test, I need to be able to recognize works of lit. and be able to recognize simple summaries and/or characters. Nothing too in depth... Just a little bit of everything... Which this book offers.

    Perfect

This book is brilliant. The stories are just the right length, with all the key events you need to know. Followed by famous quotes and such.

    Disappointed

This 'helpful study material' provides little to none in depth analysis of the text. I would discourage anyone from buying this text, and suggest they come up with their own analysis while reading the book. I truly believe that buying this was a waste of my money.

    brilliant

I have read the books that I needed to review but I consider the insights and information invaluable. The reviews made me question my own evaluations of the books I have read. They gave me new perspective. Perspective that I think the teachers are looking for.

    Excellent

This is definitely a must-have for anyone in an advanced English course. It uses a clear manner to analyze many elements in English literature. A+ in my opinion!
