Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal
Gr 2-3-Posed color photographs on a white background illustrate the story of a child's first ballet show. After rehearsing for the part of a rabbit, Laura is asked to fill in for an injured student and ends up dancing a main role. The text is primarily a vehicle to illustrate dance terminology, and words are defined in boxes sprinkled throughout. A two-page spread illustrates the different foot positions and one page shows six steps. Although this colorful, attractive volume will be picked up by young dancers, it is not an engaging reading experience.- Copyright 1999 Cahners Business Information.
