Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble

Discretion sometimes is a girl's best friend, but that doesn't including lying to yourself about a romantic relationship. Too often, women suffer anguish when they are forced to recognize that all those warning signs that they ignored have now reached critical mass. With its real-life relationship disaster stories, this lively new cautionary guide by three gal pals is instructive, but it's also heartening and entertaining: There is something undeniably invigorating about discovering that you're not the only one out there who has been hoodwinked by an all-too-good Casanova.

Library Journal
This captivating book is based on an abundance of bad date anecdotes and advice pulled together at www.bigredflags.com by Burton (relationship editor, Glo.com), comedy writer Julie Fishman, and yoga instructor Meagan McCrary. The authors categorize the stories and red flag lists into chapters dealing with specific male faults, such as the need to grow up and being a freak in bed. Readers will cringe at some of the real-life pick-up lines (e.g., "I'm on top of the hotness tree") and Valentine's Day gifts (e.g., a lip hair bleach kit). While the book offers warnings for single women, it is primarily a fun, somewhat voyeuristic window into the disastrous side of the dating world.

    10 out of 10 stars!

I love relationship advice, not because I need it (I hope!), but because I enjoy giving it. I'm not THAT experienced (no Ph.D.!) but I am studying psych. After all, what more does finding Mr. Right come down to, than the woman mind?

The Little Black Book of Big Red Flags is a cute, sharp manual that's small in stature, but big in heart. Reading it, not only will you come to an understanding of questionable male behavior -- ranging from that of the weaklings, to the complete jackasses -- but also, laugh and wince along with numerous other women who tell their Big Red-Flag Stories. This book resonates distinct giggles, relatable instances, and tell-it-to-me truths that you'll be more than happy to keep in mind. Complete with 50 essential "rules" of the dating world, blunt, hysterical, and ever-so-observant, this Little Black Book deserves a spot on my "to read again and again and again" shelf, or better yet, to be tucked into my purse.

This is for ALL the single ladies!!!

"The Little Black Book of Big Red Flags" belongs in the wonderful family of witty girl guide books that I find myself enjoying over and over, no matter what the message.

It carries the same tune of "He's Just Not That Into You" - basically, pay attention to said guys ACTIONS, and you can figure out what really irks you, and what you are willing to put up with - and whether or not he is worth spending your time with.

The book includes real stories from not only the authors, but from real life contributors from the blog the three authors started (thelittleblackblogofbigredflags) and while reading it, you can find familiarity in most of the situations that are described; I know I certainly did. It is always comforting to know that you aren't the only one who has been through what you have been through.

After finishing the book, I found myself wishing there was advice like this with jobs, and friendships, although a lot of the red flags can be applied to other places in your life for sure.

All in all, this book is a great eye opener, an easy read, and entertaining as hell. All those single ladies out there should definitely check it out!

    Don't hesitate to read this!!

I saw this at BnN and knew I had to get it. I was in a weird situation with a guy, and there were red flags right away. This helped me see exactly how many, and in the end they were validated. Jerk. But these ladies tell it to you straight, like they are your BFFs, chilling over a cup of coffee. Excellent advice and things to watch for.

Thank you girls for writing this book!!! I'm getting ready to read it again. :)
