I am a huge fan of Karen Katz as is...but these three books about manners are a real gem. Your child is sure to be a very respectful human being after reading these!

Great for toddlers just learning to talk and read. My daughter loves these Karen Katz board books. Good lessons on appropriate behaviors and manners.

My daughter is 20 months old now and has been in love with Karen Katz' flap books for a year now. The "No Hitting" books is awesome: beautiful to look at, easy for her to understand, and it gives alternative behaviours for children when they are angry. I.e. I want to squeeze the cat, but I can... squeeze clay instead. Lovely. The book about manners is excellent and I have seen an improvement in the consistency in which my daughter uses please, thank you, excuse me, etc. My only complaint is the sharing book. It's all about having things that you don't want to share with others and than alternatives for not sharing. For example, something like I have a new shovel, but you can't dig with it. Instead we can build a sand castle together. What's the subtext? We can work together but you have to use your hands because I can't be bothered to share? I've got a new doll, but you can't play with it. You can play with my ratty old doll instead. I just don't like the message and I don't let her read it.

This book is a great teaching tool for toddlers. My son loves to flip open the flaps to see what is inside and it will hopefully teach him some good manners over time

My toddler was hitting and instead of just telling him no, I wanted to show him how he should act by using his good manners. The pictures in the books are bright and colorful, keeping his attention. He loves to lift the flaps to see what's underneath. We read these books often, and I think that along with our guidance, he's starting to understand what good manners are. My seven year old likes to read them to his little brother too. It's a nice way to review our good manners with both of them. I highly recommend these books.

My daughter had these books memorized after the second time we read them. She loves lifting the flaps and reciting the appropriate behaviors/reactions, and has even started asking more about the images (why is she mad at her brother? what did he do?).

My 18 month old daughter loves these books. They are all her favorites. She enjoys lifting the flaps & looking everytime we turn the page. She really enjoys all of the Karen Katz books. Some of her first words are from these books.
