A decent story about the definition of sentience. My biggest pet peeve is that even the "good guys" treat the fuzzies more like pets than sentient beings, yet that is never addressed in the story.

Piper made it clear how important it will be when we finally find other life in the universe. If they are more advanced than are we, I hope they treat us better than the Fuzzies were initially treated.
